We just came from having one of the yummiest biryani in Canada or maybe our lives too. Coming from Oakville, ON where we are spoiled by the food places at Ridgeway; we had this tasty, fresh & yummy biryani & Peshawari style chicken karahi. We asked for a little more gravy & the Chef quickly whipped up some tasty yummy gravy & that made like an entire new dish. Our daughter got the complimentary yummy Mango Lassi for being cute. The Chef & the staff were extremely sweet. Montreal people if you have not been here, then You don't know what you are missing. & anyone who is planning on visiting Montreal, must visit Student Biryani at Lincoln St in Downtown Montreal.
Review by our daughter:
'The food was yummy💖.'
I ordered achari chicken biryani. It's not good, overpriced & waste of money. It seems if they bought frozen chicken cubes from Walmart & mixed with boiled rice & onion tomato paste; & served.
The Chicken Biriyani & Nihari was delicious. The Garlic Naan was superb.
One of the most popular picks. Known for rich butter chicken, flavorful curries, & generous portions. Casual vibe but very consistent quality & also thank you to the cashier girl she was so polite & helpful :)
.
Great restaurant & great food with beat prices ...had chicken biracial which was 😋 yummy
Food is tasty overall 9/10 , however I visited there 2 times around 10-1030 pm ,,, they said they chicken Karahi is not available… also it will be great if they have salad ,,, they only give onions if asked for salad .
I'm a regular customer at Student Tasty Biryani & I've always enjoyed their food, especially the chicken paratha roll. However, today's experience was extremely disappointing.
The paratha was clearly stale & not fresh at all, & the sauce tasted really off it completely ruined the roll. I've never had such a bad paratha from them before, which made it even more surprising.
It's frustrating because when you're a loyal customer, you expect consistency. The quality of food should be the same whether it's dine-in or takeaway, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case today.
Very disappointed. I hope they seriously work on maintaining their standards.
quality has dropped unfortunately, non-veg thali used to be great. Recently ordered & the curry was completely watered down with the two smallest pieces of chicken in each. Also they somehow completely burnt the inside of a samosa. Such a shame, used to be my go-to place.
I came here a few times before & enjoyed their food. This time not so lucky, I waited 1h15 (not joking i checked the time of my receipt) for a chicken byriani when the store was empty. The owner was kind enough to give me a free drink, but my mood was pretty bad. I was gonna give it a 1 star but I saw a few boxes filled with takeout orders, so they might of been really busy. Anyways I'm not gonna back to this place.
