Did you know you can bring your own alcohol here? Everyone had a bottle of wine just for themselves. Legendary.
I don't know how to take off a couple stars in the rating for how dull the knives were. So, 40 times attempting to slice my steak - that's 80 strokes total - & the tendons were not cut... So I asked for a sharper knife, (aside: at my new knife request, the lady next to me chimed in saying that their knives were also terrible) which was just larger in size & only took 20 attempts at 40 strokes total. Yes, I counted. Usually a steak as small as a fillet mignon is still warm at the last bite but this was the first time my entire dish was stone cold not even halfway through. It was cooked correctly but I've never had sore hands from eating a steak dinner. If I had an entire bottle of wine with dinner I suppose I would not have minded the surprise workout as much. I was fighting for a buzz as hard as I was trying not to lose a digit or accidentally fling my plate's contents in the slicing process.
Our waiter was nice enough, I can tell they work hard there. It was a funny way to end the visit to Montreal, & I would go back there again with more alcohol & my own steak knife.

Food & Atmosphere are good. They have a bring your own wine option which is nice. Looked online & they said there was a bar which Served beer & other drinks.
When we arrived, we were told that they did not have a bar service, & did not serve any alcohol at all.
Would of been nice to know beforehand.
Waiter has zero patience with us… table was wobbly told us he couldn't fix it , opened our wine didnt poor it brought the bills we weren't even done eating

The classic steak & frites is delicious. Go for the classic sauce. It is a bring your wine place.
Good service, two small requests needed to be repeated.
I discovered that you needed to bring your own wine after I arrived, but Couche Tard is only two blocks away, so it was easy to get wine with my dinner. Steak was prepared perfectly, the goat cheese appetizer was delightful, & the frites were prepared perfectly. & the service was great!
It is difficult to give an accurate star rating when some aspects of our experience, such as service, were so wonderful & others, like our food, so uneven. My steak tartare might have been the best I have ever had & all accompanying vegetables were fresh & beautifully dressed. On the other hand the apple pie was literally burned black on the bottom, dried out on all surfaces & refrigerator cold in the middle. ( We were not charged for it & the server seemed genuinely embarrassed.) One steak was ordered medium & might have had just a hint of pink at the middle of a dry brown piece.
Our biggest frustration, though, was that the website mentions that you can'bring your own wine' not that you HAVE to bring your own wine. We come from a jurisdiction where that would be illegal & telling someone visiting your city that you can''go out & buy some' is not helpful.
I humbly suggest that information be included on the website. If it had I might have enjoyed a meal with a very nice bottle.
My favorite restaurant while visiting Montreal. My filet mignon was excellent & it was served with the most delicious mustard cream herb sauce on the side. We loved that we could bring our own bottle of wine. Our waiter was top notch. Very cool attmosphere with dimmer lighting. Highly recommend!
Got the steak & fries with mushroom sauce & the apple pie 🥧 It's a bring your own wine so feel free to bring your bottles. Good & courteous service. Thanks again!

We reserved our seats for 3 for dinner on a Saturday & were impressed with the swiftness we were looked after. We were reminded that it was a BYOB, which was a very nice touch. I got a msg on my phone, seconds after that our table was reserved.
While we brought our own bottle, the waitress opened our bottle & we poured our own wine from start to finish.
Atmosphere was casual, somewhat loud but not unpleasant.
Service was fast with our waitress being OK. Just the very bare minimum.
Appetizers were snail with garlic/cheese & a deep fried goat cheese were excellent.
New York streak & bavette de boeuf served medium rare were tender but a tad too cooked.
Overall, a good restaurant to go to from time to time, with BYOB.
Building/restaurant is kind of tired. Food overpriced. I have an allergy to dairy, but they would not make a special sauce as all are pre-made. Ambivalent service. Don't forget to get your own wine, as there is no liquor license.
We had been there in the past. We found to quality of the steak to be improved over years past. We like the cauliflower bite appetizers, the new york strip & fries were delicious. All steaks were cooked to the correct degree of doneness. Its really nice to be able to bring our own bottle of wine to the meal as well.
Skip the fried/baked goat cheese, but definitely try the steak & frites! & don't forget, bring your own wine! (they don't sell alcohol & you can save a few dollars by bringing the wine you love)
