We went for a 21st birthday dinner with my grandparents, table of 5 & reserved ahead of time. In theory everything went well at the beginning, good menu & good overall vibe. It started to go downhill an hour into our service, when we still hadn't been served our entrées (cold salads) & a lemonade. Given that resto was half full at that point it didnt seem reasonable & we started to feel ignored. Entrée was missing the side of chicken, came after. Then another hour for our main meal (we had now been there for two hours). While waiting we had to ask multiple times how long it would take & at this point my 90+ year old grandparents were completely fading & very hungry. Practically had to beg for some bread to keep us going. Meal finally came 2 hours & 15 min after we got there, warm (thank god) & the food itself was good but considering our frustration at this point & the fact the meals were basically pasta & cooked eggplant, felt underwhelming. Poured our own wine. Another 40 minutes for dessert (offered for free luckily). The entire thing took 3 hours & 15 minutes for a three course meal & bill. It was clear by the end the kitchen they have cannot accommodate the extension they built & they were not prepared for a proper Saturday night crowd. Waiters did their best but didnt seem to be able to actually help. Manager also tried to justify the wait time which was objectively unreasonable. Unfortunately this ruined the whole atmosphere of the birthday party we wanted to have. It was my first time here & didnt leave a good impression. Hope they fix these service issues as it's just not up to standard for a Westmount restaurant & certainly not what we would expect for a family special occasion.
Somehow worse than Donato, the same owner's other Westmount spot. He's also behind the burger place down the block, which is its own flavour of forgettable. Three restaurants, three misses, all opened within about a year of each other.
The place appears to be aiming for a young-&-clubby thing that feels out of place in this neighbourhooda. The servers are kids: shy, apologetic, visibly unsure of what they're serving.
The food? The tuna salad was made with canned tuna. Not *tasted like*. Was. Salt & tin. The pizza had the specific limpness of something that arrived frozen & got reheated in a hurry.
Beautifully decorated restaurant located in the heart of Westmount on Sherrebrooke street. The terrace really captures the feeling of sipping an Aperol on a balcony in Como & the service feels just as luxurious. From the moment you are greeted to your last step out the door & everything in between, the staff are accommodating, kind & knowledgeable about the menus. Finally, the food is definitely worth returning for. Personally, having been several times the specials are always great. But if it's your first time, the Mafaladini Al Funghi will always impress. Whether you're looking for a causal apertivo, night with the family or date at the bar - Spuntino will be your spot. P.S. The music is always great!
A beautiful new gem in Westmount. The service is excellent & the team is very welcoming!
We came for lunch for my friend's birthday & everyone was very pleased. I got the crispy chicken Milanese sandwich & it was just great. Also, you have to try their cheesecake! Our waitress was highly professional & attentive. Will definitely come again!
Place is okay. Food is a bit overpriced, especially for ricotta ravioli & calamari... Not the best spot in westmount. But nice atmosphere & friendly staff. Would rather go to Donato for the many other options for food
Lovely Italian-style restaurant in Westmount. The atmosphere was really nice & relaxing, with friendly staff, good service & delicious pizzas. For dessert we tried pistachio tiramisu & it was definitely the right choice!
