I enjoyed my dine-in experience at Souvlaki Bar - the service was very friendly & the environment was quite cozy. As for The food, it was excellent & the menu had great variety. The chicken gyro platter is my go-to but everything on the menu is interesting. It was a bit more pricey than my last visit but the portions are well worth it in the end. Tonight was my third time at this specific location. The service was excellent. The portions are good. The sauce they serve with the fried calamari tastes cheap (yellow mustard mixed with mayo & mayo+ketchup: not very Greek, if you ask me). We ordered the half chicken plate. The chicken was quite bland; there were barely any spices or garlic or lemon on the skin. Their salad dressing is disappointing. It's bland & uninteresting (you don't taste that punch from olive oil, garlic, lemon & oregano you usually find in an authentic Greek dressing). Their rice is usually good, but tonight, it was bland & more like cafeteria rice. Finally, during a previous visit, I ordered a chicken souvlaki pita & tonight, I asked some tzatziki on the side & I can say without a doubt that there is something off with their tzatziki. I can't put my finger on it, but it is something I make regularly at home & that I ate at other Greek restaurants & theirs doesn't taste good. This restaurant has great potential, but you can feel some laziness in the kitchen (or maybe in the administration?) because they tend to cut corners & they don't serve authentic Greek food.View more
Had the half chicken.Big juicy pieces of chicken so hot I had to wait a minute for it to cool down Possibly the best I've ever had. Also the mini pitas on Tuesday night $2.50 each. Excellent value. Great service by our server George.
