Souvlaki Authentique specializes in the preparation of traditional Greek street food with a focus on high-quality grilled proteins and fresh accompaniments. Guests encounter signature skewers featuring marinated pork and chicken, which are expertly flame-grilled to ensure a tender texture and distinct smoky char. These meats are served inside warm, pillowy pita bread alongside a proprietary blend of tzatziki sauce, crisp vegetables, and hand-cut potatoes. The menu extends to include hearty salads composed of vine-ripened tomatoes, brined olives, and blocks of authentic feta cheese tossed in Greek olive oil. Service centers on efficient preparation methods that prioritize flavor consistency across the entire Mediterranean-inspired culinary selection. The establishment maintains a streamlined atmosphere designed to highlight the fundamental components of regional Greek cuisine while emphasizing the bold profile of authentic savory seasonings and fresh citrus.
Souvlaki Authentique consistently impresses diners with its authentic, high-quality Greek cuisine, featuring generous portions of fresh, perfectly seasoned meats and delicious sides like their signature Greek potatoes and creamy tzatziki. The restaurant is widely praised for its warm, inviting atmosphere and clean, pleasant decor, making it a favorite lunch spot in the city. While the majority of visitors experience friendly and attentive service, some note that the staff can occasionally feel overwhelmed during peak hours or busy delivery periods, leading to minor service inconsistencies. Despite rare isolated issues with specific dishes or order accuracy, the overall consensus highlights excellent value, affordable pricing, and a memorable dining experience that frequently earns strong recommendations.
This restaurant serves the absolute best authentic Greek food. The owner is incredibly welcoming, & the food is outstanding. The gyro is exceptionally fresh, perfectly seasoned, & delicious. Every single bite tastes completely authentic & high-quality.
I came here for the souvlaki pita, & I wasn't disappointed. All the ingredients were fresh & really, as a lifetime Montreal style souvlaki addict, this is a good pick! The place is clean, unlike the infamous Arahova's on St-Viateur. The only thing was the ditzy young waitress but in the end, I gave her a pass as she's trying her best in a busy joint!

Had a Greek bowl with a carrot cake & extra pita....it was really good. Freshly made. I was happy with my order.
For a separate order, I got lamb. It was red on the inside, super chewy & it tasted weird. This tells me that the staff tried to defrost it in the microwave to make the cooking go faster (I did place the order at 8:30 that night & received it by 9).
It would be better to defrost using cold water for 10 minutes. The meat was unedible. I won't order that dish again.
The food was delicious, pita was fresh with just enough tzatziki sauce & the portions were big enough that we were able to take some home! Would definitely recommend
There have been many versions of 1345/47 rue Ontario East - a mac bar, a Greek restaurant, a mac-&-Greek hybrid, even a bar/club where I could imagine Mariah Carey walking by & saying,'I don't know her.'
But now, it's brand new beautiful Greek restaurant - with new owners, new energy, & a menu that is very delicious.
The moment you walk in, the space feels warm & inviting - soft lighting, light wood accents, & subtle touches of blue that remind you of the islands. The decor is simple but intentional; nothing feels overdone. It's the kind of place where you can stay a while - & you should.
The food? Fresh, flavorful, & comforting. The souvlaki is perfectly grilled with that smoky char, the tzatziki is creamy & bright, & the fries - golden, crisp, & impossible to stop eating. Even the pita feels homemade. Every dish tastes like it was made with care & pride.
Sure, Uber Eats is convenient & staying home is cozy, but nothing compares to sitting down at Souvlaki Authentique, having a meal, & soaking up the atmosphere. It's the kind of restaurant that makes you forget the weather outside.
A great addition to the neighborhood - & one worth supporting.
Decided to try this Greek restaurant for the 1st time. Besides having eaten Greek food for the longest time in so many places in Montreal, Laval. Québec, I will give a TOP 10 to SOUVLAKI AUTHENTIQUE located in Place Ville Marie on ROUEN street.
Ordered 2 chicken souvlaki pita plate with Greek potatoes & house salad. Fresh, delicious food. The chicken was well marinated & cooked perfectly. The greek potatoes with their signature sauce on top were so good. Rice cooked perfectly. The souvlaki pitas are unbelievably delicious. The Tzaziki is well done & tastes authentic.
I am very happy to have eaten here & will definitely go back very soon.
Souvlaki authentique is the most consistent when it comes to & taste that I have ever experienced from a restaurant. It is ALWAYS delicious, fresh & is enough for two meals. I order through door dash & order from them when I want to be guaranteed a great meal.
