Review Summary

Sour Bites offers a lively, visually striking dessert scene with a wide range of sweets from candied fruits and tanghulus to Dubai chocolate cups and other colorful treats, and the atmosphere is described as fun, clean and instagrammable. Overall, the service is repeatedly praised as friendly, fast, and attentive, making it a popular choice for nights out with friends or family. Reviews highlight strong flavors and appealing textures, with many items noted as standout favorites, though several voices caution that prices are steep and portions can feel small or inconsistent. While most experiences are positive, there are mentions of occasional stockouts and some items arriving in less-than-ideal condition, and a recall concern linked to Chocolat Dubai products is also noted. Despite drawbacks, the consensus is that Sour Bites is a worthwhile visit for a special dessert experience and many customers say they would return.

Literally make the best Dubai strawberry cups, not even kidding I have one like once a week! Other menu items are pretty good too, the Dubai chocolate stuff is my favourite though as I find they've nailed the perfect ratio & put a lot of the pistachio compared to other places

Les tangoulous & le chocolat Dubaï sont vraiment délicieux. C'est une gâterie qu'on se paye qu'une fois de temps à autre puisque c'est un peu dispendieux... Le seul bémol est le prix & le manque d'espace de stationnement.

🍬 What is Sour Bites

Sour Bites is a Québec dessert/candy brand that's gone viral on TikTok. They started mostly via online / Laval, but now have a location on 2185 Rue Crescent, Montréal. ?

They specialize in:
• fruits enrobés de bonbon (candied fruits) ?
• Tanghulus (fruit skewers with sugar crunch) ?
• Chocolat Dubaï (a chocolate bar with pistachio & kunafeh) ?
• Verrines, cheesecakes, tasses (dessert cups), etc. Lots of variety. ?

?

👍 What's Good
• Visually impressive / Instagram-worthy. The presentation is colourful, the sweets look beautiful. Great for that'wow' factor. ?
• Variety. If you like sweets, candy, fruit combos, there are many options: fruit + candy, verrines, chocolate bars, etc. You can pick what level of sweetness / fancy you want. ?
• Locations & hours. They're open late (especially on weekends), which is a plus if you want dessert after dinner or late nights out. ?
• The novelty / local trend. There's something fun about trying a dessert place that's trending online, with flavours & concepts people are buzzing about. Sour Bites has tapped that well. ?

?

👎 What Could Be Better / What to Be Aware Of
• Pricing is steep. These are treats, not cheap snacks. Some items like chocolate bars or boxed sweets go for $12.99 to $27.99 CAD. ?
• Overhype vs reality. Some customers might feel that the'social media glow' oversells a bit: while delicious, not every item is mind-blowing. If your expectations are sky high (because of TikTok), you might find some items more novelty than'best dessert ever.'
• Salmonella/recall concern. There is a recall posted by MAPAQ:'Chocolat Dubaï from Sour Bites in Montréal' was linked to a salmonella outbreak. If you have bought that product (between specific dates: April-7 to Sept-5, 2025) you are advised to discard it. ?
• Lines / availability. Because of its popularity, some flavours or products might sell out. Might need patience or to come earlier. ?

?

⭐ Overall Rating & Verdict

I'd give Sour Bites approx 4.0-4.5 / 5. It's fun, indulgent & a treat place done well, especially if you love sweet / candy-fruit combos. But it's not without its drawbacks: cost, occasional overpromise, & the recall is something serious to watch.

If you're in Montréal & crave something sweet, novel, & shareable (Instagram + taste), Sour Bites is absolutely worth trying once. Just go in knowing it's more dessert entertainment than everyday snack.

Very long line, it took a really long time to get our order. The Dubaï strawberries have to be the best on the menu 😍😍 the candied grapes were kind of warm in the interior & the Iranian fruit-roll snack was very sour, but i enjoyed.

When I went they took away the seating. They were very busy so it took probably like 15 minutes. Got the Dubai chocolate bar. It was about 27$. Had a lot of other dessert options as well. The staff were friendly
