a strategic stop before a comedy show at the Bell Centre. Downtown, arena-adjacent dining can sometimes be… let's call it'efficient rather than exceptional.' Our expectations were... guarded.
We were wrong.
From the first bite of the Drunken Noodles, we realized this was no pre-show compromise. The spice level had just enough swagger to wake up the palate without sending us into a panic-induced milk-chugging spiral. The vegetables were beautifully cooked - vibrant, crisp-tender - & the noodles were deeply savory & generous. When I say generous, I mean the portion could reasonably feed two hungry adults, & still leave you negotiating a few final bites. We tried. We failed.
The green curry was equally rich, fragrant, & comforting.
The Mango Sticky Rice cocktail nearly stole the entire evening. Sweet, tropical, & indulgent. It was dessert & drink all at once.
For a downtown location, steps from the arena, the pricing felt almost suspiciously reasonable. Two hearty mains, a standout cocktail, & we walked out very full & comfortably under $100 for two people.
What began as a convenient pit stop turned into a genuinely memorable meal - the perfect (& unexpectedly delicious) opening act to our night.
Love Siam! Been coming here for years & the food, drinks, ambiance & service have consistently been amazing. Thank you & I look forward to my next visit.

Great night! Our server Marilee was awesome, super friendly & gave us great drink & food recommendations. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back. Thanks!
upon arrival, the lighting was warm & inviting. The hostess was a little overwhelmed with takes outs, phones calls & guests arriving but was welcoming & pleasant. It took a little time getting our drinks as the bar staff was being bombarded but they were delicious. The food was amazing & our server was very courteous & proffessional. a great experience overall!
We went to Siam hoping to experience the MTL À table menu, however, when we were seated we were told that because there was a hockey game that evening, the service for the table d'hote would not start until 7p. Had I known this, I likely would have booked a later reservation but there was no mention of this at the time of booking.
We arrived slightly early & we were seated at the bar for a drink before our table became available, which was nice to just take in the ambiance & enjoy a beverage. Once seated we decided on some dishes & they were quite delicious, 10/10 across the board. Our server was also quite pleasant & checked in on us a few times throughout our meal.
The disappointing part was that it felt as though we were being rushed out. We barely sat for an hour & our meal was wrapped up. Additionally, we asked for the bill at the end, however, we still had 1/2 of our cocktails left & had intended to sit & enjoy them. When we were first seated we were told the next reservation for that table was 8:15pm & it was only 7:25pm so we figured we could chat & enjoy our drinks. However, our server promptly came over after we paid & said that the next guests arrived early (by an hour??) & that she was hoping we could clear our table within 5-10 minutes & that we could move to the bar if we really wanted to stay. Honestly, this put a damper on our experience for two reasons: (1) it felt like because we were potentially not going to spend more money that night we needed to leave & (2) we were early ourselves & sat at the bar, so why could the second set of guests who were an hour early not do the same?
All in all, our food was great but the night ended a bit sour for us with the service.
Went here on Saturday night, food was delicious, although the service was very slow. The entree arrived & we still had not received our drinks, my boyfriend wanted a water refill he had to ask twice, & they were not removing the dirty entree plates we had to ask them to do so. When the bills came they were all mix up with who ordered what, I had an overcharge of 3$ on my bill, waiter said he would leave it as is & to give less tip but had a face when I left 9%. You can't give bare minimum service & still expect 15%. In my opinion one visit was sufficient.
The food was good, nice portion sizes, the prawn appertizer was very nice, & the beef massaman was tasty. The dumplings & chicken satay were ok, but not amazing.
The service, however, was a real struggle. It took over 25 minutes to get a drink, & we had had a lot of issues trying to get our waiters attention to order & pay the bill, the sangria was very nice & we would have stayed for more, but it was to hard to get service so we gave up.
It's worth a visit, good thai food, not a must visit though.

Very good cooking! Florian was an excellent waiter too :) The mango drink was delicious & the duck curry was excellent! Thanks a lot for a good evening!
I've been to Siam about four or five times now, & overall, I would say it's a solid, well-rounded restaurant. The space itself is elegant without being over the top. You can tell the restaurant is aiming for that more elevated dining experience, & in most ways, it succeeds.
Let's start with what keeps me coming back: the table d'hôte. It's kind of their signature offering, a generous spread of five to six starters, two mains, rice, & either tea or coffee to wrap up for 90$. It's a great format if you want to explore the menu in one sitting. You get variety, consistency, & good value for what you receive.
The appetizers are solid across the board. From crispy spring rolls & chicken satay to those coconut shrimp skewers & dumplings, everything comes out fresh, well plated, & balanced in flavour. The sauces are well thought out, sweet chili, peanut, nuoc cham, & the mango salad adds that much-needed crunch & acidity. It's not reinventing anything, but it's all well executed.
The real star, though & I don't say this lightly is the beef red curry! It's phenomenal. The beef is so tender it literally melts in your mouth, like butter on a hot skillet. The curry itself is rich, velvety, & full of depth. You get layers of flavour: creamy coconut, a punch of chili heat, those unmistakable notes of lemongrass & kaffir lime, all balanced in a way that hits the palate just right. I've had it every single time I've gone, & it's one of the few dishes I'd actually describe as addictive.
Now... the less exciting part. The table d'hôte hasn't changed in at least three years. Same starters, same mains, same everything. & while it's comforting to know what to expect, I do think the menu could benefit from a bit of seasonal rotation or at least one or two new additions. For a place that positions itself on the higher end, a little evolution would go a long way. When I go out for this kind of dining experience, part of the joy is in discovering new things... & right now, that's missing.
That's where the five-star rating drops a bit for me. It's not the quality, that's there. It's the lack of freshness in the offering over time.
The drink menu is solid but leans expensive. Cocktails are well made & beautifully presented, tropical, often layered with Thai flavours like basil, ginger, or mango, but again, it adds up quickly, especially if you're doing the full menu.
Service is generally great, professional & warm, & the pace is well managed. You can feel the intention of offering a more refined experience. That said, I did have one visit that really missed the mark. One of the mains came out bland, which was a shock given how flavourful the food usually is. The dish was genuinely disappointing, & unfortunately, the staff didn't acknowledge it or offer anything to make up for it, which, to be honest, was a bit of a letdown at this price point. But in fairness, it was a one-time thing out of several great meals.
Most recently, I brought my partner, who's from Asia & usually quite tough to impress when it comes to Southeast Asian cuisine. He was genuinely impressed, with the flavours, the attention to detail, & the plating. That reaction alone gave me some reassurance that despite the stagnant menu, the core quality is still there.
So yes, Siam is still a place I would recommend. The dishes are consistent, visually beautiful, & generally packed with flavour. It's just time for the menu to get the same kind of attention the plating & ambiance already do.
I had an amazing experience. The food & drinks were delicious but the best part was our waitress Julianne who was attentive, funny, professional & made our night overall special! I will definitely come back.
We had reserved weeks in advance & asked for a more quiet spot for an anniversary (party of 2). One of us has a hearing disorder, but we're not asking for a soundproof booth in a busy restaurant. Despite the restaurant being moderately empty on the ground floor due to many leaving for the hockey game, we were sat smack in the middle of 2 other tables elbow to elbow. We had to lean away from the waiter when he came to take orders standing between tables because it was uncomfortably close. One couple asked to be moved & they refused, another woman was allowed to go upstairs after insisting; we didn't bother asking & making a scene too. We were put behind the bar about 2 meters away from the phone they let ring way too long, the packing (& ripping) of paper bags for takeout, the dishes, the place where the waiters punched in orders, & where the staff sat down after their shift to giggle. Basically the "labor" corner of the restaurant. I couldn't imagine a louder & more obnoxious place to put us. Every single table by the street window was empty. The waiter never came back after dropping the plates to ask if we needed anything else & we were only given 1 drink. I had to get up, walk around the bar & wave him down to pay my bill. The 3 walk-in tables they served next to us during our time there had similar complaints. For 3/4 tables he had to come back & ask what the order was again. An older lady asked him if it's because the restaurant doesn't allow him to write things down & he answered he just couldn't find a pen. I almost gave him one from my bag. I dont blame the kiddo he was likely new, this place is just mismanaged. During lunch it's good for a fairly quick in & out. Don't bother trying to have a proper dinner with someone
This was the best Thai/Cambodian restaurant I have tried in Montreal. Our server Olivier was amazing & really gave us the full Siam experience. He explained the full menu & made sure the food & drinks were to our liking. I will definitely come back & potentially celebrate a birthday here!
This is our third time to Siam, I am from Ottawa & I come to MTL just for this restaurant. We found this restaurant by accident one day because it was so well designed & the atmosphere was so welcoming. We ended up coming back every year since. What surprised me was how elegant the presentation of the food has always been, & at the same time the favor is unique, authentic, & delivers a level of satisfaction & it's not pretentious at all. It's delicious & delivers a level of comfort all at the same time. The cocktails are to die for, especially the Mango Sticky Rice & reverse Mango sticky rice cocktail. This is the only time I took the time review because our waiter made our experience perfect, he was fun, entertaining & made great recommendations. We enjoyed our delicious food & drinks accommodation from Oliver, this guy worked so hard to ensure our experience was top notch, we can also see he works so hard for every table he waited on. We left the restaurant feeling so happy & we can see he was doing the same with his other tables. Man, he really deserves a vacation!
Food was on point but our server was terrible. Took forever to take a drink order & then when we did, he never came back for a reorder. What should have been a casual hourish dinner, because the server was not attentive we sat there for over 2 hours - main & 1 drink were all that we ordered due to this. Food was excellent.
Was staying in hotel & they highly recommended. The food was incredible. So flavorful & filling & the ambience was great. However, the service was terrible. Seemed to be one server for the entire first floor. He barely came to the table, & in the end we had to flag down a different server for water & the rest of our drinks, a runner for cutlery, flag down the hostess for the cheque. It ruined the experience . I eiuldnt go back based on this
