Review Summary

Shokutsuki comes across as a cozy, cute Japanese restaurant with a warm, intimate vibe and a compact menu that includes donburi, poke bowls, curry, poutine and burgers. Food is consistently praised as delicious and filling, with generous portions and good value, while service is described as friendly and attentive. Reviewers note a strong sense of authenticity and a comfortable atmosphere, and many call it a hidden gem ideal for a late night or a casual lunch, often crowded at midday because of a nearby school. Some criticisms mention the curry occasionally arriving cold and the poutine and fried items sometimes being greasy, and a few dishes tasting a bit salty or heavy, with desserts not always hitting the mark. Takeout and delivery are appreciated, and the owner and staff are repeatedly praised for their hospitality, with several mentions of a welcoming host and a thoughtful approach to the menu. Overall, Shokutsuki offers flavorful options and a memorable setting that makes it a reliable option for a relaxed meal or a quick bite with plenty of variety.

Really cute place with lots of tasty food options. Meat, seafood, vegetarian. Desserts are really good!

Unagi poke bowl needed more eel & sauce for that volume, like it felt more like a dry salad. Onigiri were good but typical. Snowflake cookies were bite sized but good, reminded me of mini rice crispy squares & come in a cute bag, perfect as a gift, homemade dessert was a matcha mousse which was kind of underwhelming for that price & the fact that you can't chose which dessert you get.
