The story of SHNOOPI begins with our family, steeped in the culinary heritage of the Mediterranean countries. We grew up in Egypt, travelling a lot around other countries with whom we share the crystal blue water filled Sea, such as Italy, Greece, Lebanon, France, etc. As long as we can remember, our cuisine has always been inspired by a lot of these countries’ flavors, mixing ingredients in untraditional ways, yet representing all cultures in a harmonious way. When creating SHNOOPI, we wanted to represent and honor that heritage, as well as share the food we grew up eating with our clients.
In fact, the name SHNOOPI stands for our family’s nickname. So don’t be surprised if you here us calling each other SHNOOPI in the kitchen!
Reviews consistently describe Shnoopi as a cozy, welcoming spot with a diverse roster of sandwiches and salads, many with housemade dressings and strong gluten-free options that delight diners with celiac or gluten-sensitive needs. Guests praise generous portions, fresh ingredients, and standout items like roast beef, chicken pesto, and lobster rolls, plus tasty soups and rice pudding. Service is often described as friendly and attentive, with a lively, homey atmosphere and a pleasant terrace; however a few visits note slower service, occasional inconsistency, and some dishes feeling pricey or not as seasoned. Overall, Shnoopi comes across as a distinctive Montreal staple for creative, well-made sandwiches and reliable gluten-free choices that many would return for.
Sandwiches were good & they were able to accommodate a gluten allergy which I really appreciate.
However, there was an awkward customer service experience. I originally ordered a sandwich on gluten-free bread, but several minutes later I was told they actually could not make that sandwich gluten free & was asked to reorder something else instead. That part was understandable, & I appreciated them letting me know.
A few minutes after that, I was then asked to come back again because they had forgotten to charge me the extra $3 for the gluten-free bread. I don't really mind paying for it, but having to repeatedly come back to fix ordering & payment issues made the experience feel disorganized & inconvenient.
The employee helping me seemed very new & was very apologetic, so I do not blame them personally. My concern was more with the management side. A manager was present during the interactions, & it felt like more support or guidance could have helped prevent the confusion & made the experience smoother for everyone.
Ate here once & the sandwiches were delicious but our experience with take-out was much different. Slimey chicken, very underwhelming flavours. Disappointed

Had to try this place & went with the Chicken Tahini; although now thinking about it… probly not their best seller.
The sandwich fell really short for me; bread was ok at most but the Great Value pre cooked chicken breast slices & the one slice of tomato drench in good ol' plain tahini was a sad sight.
Ingredients listed on the menu make it look appetizing but reality hit different.
Would sadly not recommend this place.
Wishing you guys the best but for 20$ … Ciccio is way better in term of quality.
Great sandwiches! Grabbed a sandwich on the go, & it was delicious, & the portion was quite generous. The place was cozy & inviting. Really recommend it for a nice & tasty sandwich.
Excellent sandwiches but price to value isn't obvious. We had the chicken pesto (excellent) & the roast beef (very tender roast beef with a well balanced Dijon mayonnaise). Dining room is bright & airy; service was quick & attentive. Overall solid meal but a bit overpriced.
They offer gluten-free sandwiches here! So delicious!!! This is probably one of the only sandwich places that I can order a gluten-free baguette. Thank you so much. The pesto chicken sandwich is the best!
Fantastic sandwiches & the kindest staff. Also, if you must eat gluten free, this is the place to do it. The GF rolls are actually yummy & everyone takes cross contamination seriously.
Gotta hand it to this place, I love saying their name out loud. Shnoopi Shnoopi Shnoopi Shnoopi Shnoopi
Main issue here was that it took 45+ minutes to get a sandwich, & this was after walking up to the cash to ask twice. Normally don't care about this sort of thing but there weren't that many people there & we felt pretty ignored.
Food was tasty though & my gluten-free girlfriend felt like she was in good hands!
We ordered chicken Tahini sandwich which was pretty good, & sufficient for 2 person. Also, cappuccino & hot chocolate was delicious. Friendly service & lovely ambience. Great place for hangout & brunch.
Sandwich copieux & excellent.
Super cute restaurant. We lived there sandwiches. Very good. Coffee good. We had cabrese sandwich & rôtie de boeuf. Miam. Would highly recommend & will return.
Amazing sandwiches that tastes very unique due to in-house made Egyptian style sauces & recipes. Forgot to photo the soup but that was insanely good as well. Came here near closing & the owner was still delighted to serve us. He also explained the dishes to us along with a brief history of the shop. Will definitely be coming back when I go to Montreal again!
