About

Shawarmaz specializes in authentic Levantine street food centered on high-quality proteins prepared using traditional vertical rotisserie techniques. The menu focuses on thinly sliced chicken and beef shawarma served within freshly baked pita bread or as substantial platter components. Each serving incorporates a selection of crisp, seasonal vegetables and house-made sauces that balance the rich, savory profile of the seasoned meats. Diners find a consistent emphasis on bold spice profiles and grilled textures that define this particular culinary tradition. Beyond the signature sandwiches, the kitchen prepares a variety of garden-fresh salads that provide a lighter accompaniment to the protein-forward offerings. The dining space maintains a streamlined layout designed for efficiency and rapid service. This establishment delivers a precise and focused menu that highlights classic Mediterranean flavors through careful preparation and standard ingredient sourcing.

Review Summary

Shawarmaz is widely praised for its fresh, flavorful middle eastern dishes and generous portion sizes, with many patrons highlighting the beef saj and falafel as standout menu items. The staff consistently receives high marks for being welcoming, attentive, and efficient, often elevating the dining experience with their professional and friendly demeanor. While most customers consider it a top-tier destination for a satisfying meal, some feedback indicates a preference for the return of traditional plating over the current bowl options and occasional concerns regarding pricing. Overall, it remains a popular spot in Montreal favored for its consistent quality, inclusive vegan options, and ability to provide excellent service even during late-night hours.

It's past midnight on a school night. This is one of the very few places open to get food. Expectations were low. But the three gentlemen behind the counter turned our fast food into a fine dining experience. The ingredients were fresh & personalised recommendations were offered. The service was warm, polite & respectful. Oh & the food was amazing!

J'ai essayé le pita poulet. Très ordinaire. Trop salé. Peu de légumes.
