I visited Shaaz Restaurant recently, & honestly, the experience was extremely disappointing.
The restaurant was packed, but there was only ONE server handling everything - taking orders, serving food, cleaning tables, & bringing bills. What's shocking is that this isn't just a small single-floor place… there are TWO dining floors, & still only one poor guy running around nonstop.
At least 5 tables had already finished & left, but they remained uncleared because the server simply didn't have a moment to breathe. Meanwhile, many of us were just standing & waiting with no place to sit. It wasn't the server's fault at all - he was clearly doing his absolute best - but the management should be ashamed for running a busy restaurant like this without proper staffing.
This review is directed at the management: if you can't afford basic service support, you shouldn't be operating at this scale. I genuinely felt bad for the server, but as a customer, I value my time… & I won't be coming back.
1. Bathroom was broken (all stalls out of order)
2. Service took over an hour for two bowls of curry.
3. We were the only whit people present, sever prioritized Indian customers who came in up to 20 minutes after before us.
4. Food was okay, nothing exceptional.
Looking at the high reviews for the area, I question whether or not Canadians had ever had good curry or service?

Biryanis are really good... But didn't like chicken dum biryani.. it's rice is dry & have only 2 chicken pieces in it. No flavors.. very flat taste. I'll not recommend it.. Telangana biryani is so damn good a bit spicy'best'... This 5 star rating is just for that...
The starters were absolutely top notch. We ordered Dragon Gobi & Peshwari Paneer Tikka, & both were delicious, well-cooked, & full of flavor.
Unfortunately, the main course was a letdown. The Veg Schezwan Fried Rice was very soggy, & the rice was only half-cooked & hard to chew. When we informed the staff, we were told that'this is how it is,' which was disappointing.
We also ordered Kattapa Mutton Biryani & faced the same issue-undercooked rice. This time, the staff acknowledged the mistake, apologized, & replaced it with Donne Mutton Biryani, which was decent. However, the rice & meat were cooked separately, which didn't feel authentic or make sense for a Donne biryani.
Overall, I had high expectations based on the starters, but the main course failed to live up to them.
Delicious food with an Amazing ambience. exceptional service by Shree. Despite being so busy they handled the customers & the perfectly cooked food was served. Especially Mutton items.
I am terribly disappointed with the quantity & taste of Chicken 65. I just ordered it & it is overly salted & the portion size is a trick. It is 3/4 of the regular container for the same price as their biryani. I should have ordered the biryani because of the price atleast I would have had the rice to soak up salt. I cannot believe that Shaaz would do this. As a customer who values traditional food, this place is terrible with portion sizes for delivery. Paying 20 dollars to receive something that even Tim hortons would do a better job! I would advise the store owners to do better rather than telling people not to come here. I enjoyed other platters but for the chicken 65, I would rate 0/10 for today. The portion seems full but the box is very flat & small.
Food is really good, we got different chicken biryani dishes & they were both excellent ! The spice, the taste, the rice everything is really good, I'll go back for sure. Portions are really good too! The service was excellent too.
Vraiment délicieux, la soupe au mouton est une des meilleures choses que j'ai pu goûter dans un restaurant indien. Les plats végétariens sont très bons, le chicken Korma vraiment savoureux. Les pains naans valent le coup car moins coûteux que dans d'autres restaurants. Bon accueil souriant !
