Born in may 2007, Santos is the quintessential old Montreal tapas bar experience. Open from tuesday to saturday, it specializes in traditional Spanish food and offers a large an original selection of spirits, cocktails, wines, sangrias and mojitos. Live DJs every night and many special events. Santos is ideal for your 5 to 7s, late night dinners, corporate bookings and live musical events.

ORIGINS OF SANTOS
All the streets in Old Montreal are named after saints. Located on the corner of Saint Paul and Saint François Xavier and given that the food served is Spanish, it was only natural to name place "Saints" in Spanish.

Je suis allee y prendre un verre au printemps dernier à l'apéro. C'était un vendredi soir, le service était vraiment mauvais. Ça a pris une éternité avant d'avoir notre premier cocktail, encore plus avant d'avoir notre premier tapas...mais pourtant le resto n'était pas bondé du tout & il y avait beaucoup de personnel. Nous avons tout de meme recommande un autre verre, mais après 30 minutes sans l'avoir le serveur est venu nous donner l'addition (pourtant nous étions prêts à prendre davantage de tapas). Le tapas & le.drink étaient bons, sans plus

Nous sommes allées entre amies prendre un verre & manger & nous avons été agréablement surprises par le Santos. Nous avons commandé plusieurs tapas & une paella & nous avons adoré. Très simple, mais très bon. En plus, tous nos cocktails étaient délicieux. L'ambiance était super & le personnel chaleureux.

The food at this place was surprisingly good. We ordered abunch of things to share & I have to say everything was delicious. The calamari, the paella, & the beef ribs in particular were tasty. The ambiance of the place is perfect for the mid twenties to early thirties crowd. Nice decor, good music( lots of 90s music when we were there:). My only complaint was that the waitress was a bit awkward & & not as friendly as she should have been. She also kept interupting us every two seconds to ask if she could remove some of the platters which still had food in them which we thought was a bit rude because everyone was sharing & we were taking our time eating it(it was alot!). Othere than that thought, it was a great experience!
