Afficher toutramen(76) tonkotsu(13) recommend(13) broth(13) noodle(9) royalmount(6) quick(6) chicken(6) rich(6) friendly staff(5) tasty(5) highly recommend(4)It's good! The ramen is a bit on the salty side but otherwise the broth is really fresh. The employees are very helpful to explain the ramen choices. Definitely worth coming back to!
Stopped by the new Sansotei Ramen at Royalmount today for their grand opening! Since they were offering 50% off all ramen, the place was packed & the vibe was very high-energy, though the space itself is a bit small & felt quite crowded.
?We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen & the Black Tonkotsu Ramen. Both were excellent-the broth was rich & flavorful, easily the highlight of the meal. Because of the opening day rush, the service was definitely on the slower side & it took a while for our bowls to arrive. However, the quality of the food made up for the wait.
?Once things settle down after the opening craze, this will be a fantastic spot. We'll definitely be back for that broth!
Arrived at 10:10AM, 50 minutes ahead of opening hour to queue, did a quick count & there were 34 people ahead. At 10:30, i did another count, my brother & i were #41 & 42. In the last half hour, we saw more & more people join the queue in front of us. When the waitress came out to take our names, we were no longer in the first 50 (we were #51 & 52). Found it quite unfair for people who actually arrived early & lined up. Staffs should have handed the free vouchers as soon as people arrived & make people who come joined their friends pay instead (unless the queue was still under 50).
After finding out we werent in the first 50, our consolation was that our meals would at least be 50% off. We already waited this far & Ive tried other branches before & liked it, so we agreed. We ordered miso black & tomato, but got tonkotsu black & tomato. Didnt notice until later in the meal. My brother still enjoyed his tonkotsu black. It was his first time at a sansotei. I ordered thin noodles for my tomato ramen, the noodles were undercooked, still starchy & clumsy at spots. My brother also agreed on that. Broth wise, they werent as good as what ive had before at other locations. Didnt feel as hearty as other branches :/ Happy my brother enjoyed, but hope it improves ...
This place is a total comfort-food win. The tonkotsu ramen is rich, creamy, & deeply flavorful, with a broth that clearly took time & care to perfect. Every sip feels warm & satisfying. The fried chicken is just as impressive. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, & perfectly seasoned. Together, they make a dangerously good combo. If you're craving authentic, well-executed ramen with standout sides, this spot is a must-try.
Usually not a big fan of ramen, but I must say, this is one of the few places where I manage to finish my bowl! The broth was savory & deliciously light. Will come again 😋
Profoundly mediocre.
Ramen - 2/5
Good: Presentation, toppings, egg well prepared. Pork slices are average.
Bad: Served lukewarm, noodles overcooked & had no bounce or texture, broth is heavy but flavourless (even with garlic oil it was pretty bland)
Karaage: 3/5
Good: Its chicken
Bad: Disapointing texture, not crispy, oily
Service: 2/5
Staff made us wait to be seated when restaurant was not particularly busy. It seemed like they needed to wash tables, but they seated us at one that was already clean. Staff gave us an extra topping on a side plate by accident, then took it away.
Atmosphere: Sleek & modern but accent lighting in cool LEDs is a bit much, genuinely hurts the eyes depending on how you're seated. Good music.
Overpriced for what you get.
One of the best ramens in Montreal!
The broth is not too heavy compared to other places, & it's simple enough to my liking. Must try the zangi (fried chicken) & the tonkatsu which is a classic ☺?
We ordered the Tonkotsu noir (19$+tax), Shoyu (17$+tax), Yuzu cheesecake (5$+tax) & Gyoza (6$+tax). We chose the thick noodles. The ramens were good but not exceptional. I tasted the ginger in the Shoyu broth with was nice. The slice of cheesecake was small but was good & the dumplings were ok.
Finally got the chance to visit this branch, which opened two months ago. We went for Saturday lunch, & it wasn't crowded. The place was spacious with plenty of window views. We ordered a Tonkatsu Black with thin noodles & a Tomato with thick noodles. The ramen broths were rich, although slightly saltier than our taste. Other than that, everything else was great.
Food was amazing, the broth was amazing & the cheesecake was even better! Highly recommend
Ramen broth was tasteless, Tan Tan hardly had any ground meat (weird to skimp out on that), understaffed, & above average prices for ramen.
Filling meals with flavourful broth & perfect chewiness noodles.
They were also willing to customize by adding extra green onions without additional costs.
The spicy ramens' broths are super good. It's a lot more worth it here than at the food court for what you're paying for 🍜
This ramen spot blew me away from the moment I walked in. The broth was rich, deeply flavorful & filling. The noodles were perfectly chewy, springy, & just the right thickness to soak up the broth.
What really made the experience special, though, was the staff. I came with a larger group, & they went above & beyond to make space for us without making us feel rushed or cramped.
