Sammi & Soupe Dumpling is widely praised for handmade dumplings with a thin skin and juicy, flavorful fillings, from classic pork and chive to lamb and shrimp, with many noting strong vegetarian and vegan options and a standout wonton soup. The menu feels crafted and comforting, with sauces like peanut sauce that many diners love and a variety of bowls and bao to suit different tastes. Dishes are described as fresh, flavorful, and well made, giving a homemade feel even in a fast service setting. The atmosphere is casual and bustling in Chinatown, with quick, friendly service that keeps lines moving and prices that are seen as a great value. While waiting times can be long during peak periods, the consensus is that the dumplings and soups justify the wait. Takeout and dine-in are both popular, with dine-in preferred for the full soup-dumpling experience.
I liked the jasmine tea & how it was presented as it was great to share, the dumplings were tasty, & the soup was also good.
The service was good, but the place was packed, so the food took a while, but it's understandable, however because of that it was super noisy, & you could hear others people's conversations.

Absolutely mind blowingly delicious dumplings. I got the wonton soup & two varieties of dumplings - chicken & vegetable & everything was expertly crafted & delicious! Will probably pop in here on my next Montreal trip!
Honestly, the first time I came here was Aug 2025, & I wasn't that wowed by this place. We visited Montreal last week & craved soup dumplings, so I thought to give it a try again.
Ughhhh the pan-fried dumplings were delicious, & the lamb coriander soup dumplings were addicting & just bursting with flavour. The pork/chive XLB were good too, but the lamb coriander XLB are definitely the stars of the show.
There was a mix-up with the pan-fried dumpling, as a server accidentally gave our curry & beef to another table, so our server was super apologetic & professional. He gave us options: to take their order of pork & chive, or they can immediately start a new order of the curry & beef. Since we wanted to try the curry & beef & already had pork & chive XLB incoming, we elected for the latter option & our server completely understood. They came out super quickly.
We came at a busy time, but we were lucky & able to be seated in less than 10 minutes.
The soup dumplings were good overall-I'd give them four stars. The flavor & texture were nice, & they were enjoyable to eat. However, the dipping sauce felt like it was missing one important ingredient: fresh cut ginger.
I would recommend the owner consider adding fresh ginger to the dipping sauce. Especially with Canada's very cold weather, having warm soup dumplings with soy sauce & fresh ginger would make the experience even better & more comforting.

Nous avons découvert ce restaurant au hasard des rues. Quelle belle découverte! On a adoré. Les dumplings sont délicieux & pour une fois, il y a de la soupe wonton autre qu'à la viande. Il y a aussi du choix pour les végétariens. En plus le service est top! Ça va devenir un classique lors de nos visites à Montréal!
These dumplings are the best I've ever had. If I had to spend a week in Montreal, I'd definitely visit this place more than once. Don't miss the wong ton soup.
Best Xiao Long Bao in Montreal without a doubt, & rivals my favourite place back in Toronto where I live.
Great flavour, good amount of soup, nice texture, & a fairly solid price as well.
Also got the Red Bean Bao for dessert which IMO was a bit overpriced, but very tasty, with a good amount of filling.
For the people this pertains to: BE WARNED COMING HERE DURING OTAKUTHON. It is literally impossible to get a seat here during Otakuthon, because everyone knows how good the dumplings are here (not impossible bur you have to wait upwards of 2 hours for a table, cause everyone knows how good this place is).
Service is very fast & responsive & they speak both English & French.
Best spot to grab some soup dumplings come before rush hour tho cause sometimes theres a short line i usually get pork & chives pork & coriander soup dumpling & a shrimp wontons if im feeling more hungry for me & my girl is perfect !
This place is great!! I've never had such good dumplings before. They have this crunchy top, so good!! The hot & sour soup was great too! Service is excellent, I highly recommend!

Shrimp & coriander soup dumplings, didn't try anything else, it was fantastic, I love the flavor of the soup, their chili is fantastic. Coriander compliments the shrimp perfectly!
