Pretty disappointed. I ordered the fried chicken bibimbap, the fried chicken & kimchi was very good but the rest of the dish was very bland, the egg yolk was fully cooked & my food was cold. My boyfriend's fried chicken was good but extremely salty & my sister in law's tofu was still frozen when she got it. The udon curry plate was delicious though! The staff is also very friendly & restaurant has a nice ambiance!
We came here for a weekend Montreal trip & I was excited to try a good Korean restaurant, & this one had lots of good reviews. IT IS JUST AS GOOD AS THE REVIEWS SAY. Their rosé sauce is unbelievable. It is the best rosé sauce I have tasted in my life. Their bibimbap & fried chicken were also REALLY good-this is the kind of restaurant where you can't decide what to get because you know everything will be equally tasty!!! We even came back a second time the next day & the owner was also super friendly. I genuinely cannot recommend this restaurant enough for the food, & the vibes were great too.
One of my favourite spots in Montreal. The fried chicken is great, & the kimchi topped fries are addictive. Make a reservation in advance, or prepare to be waitlisted.
Small hidden place that specializes in Korean food. Definitely recommend the beef tartare along with the udon & kimchi fried rice. Fairly priced & tasted great. Reservations recommended.
I came to Samcha after a recommendation from a friend, I was told it was extremely spicy & delicious, so I came with expectations. It was great, the food was piping hot & fresh, & the flavors were amazing. (I had the kimchi fried rice, extremely creamy & savory with that signature gochujang flavor). Along with that, I also had the spicy teokbokki with cheese that was equally delicious. Now, as to the reason why I only rated it 4*, the teokbokki was perfectly spicy, but the kimchi fried rice barely had any spice. According to my friend, it tasted as though they've toned down the spice quite a lot since her last visit. She had the spicy udon, & there was the same statement in terms of spice level. I have a pretty low spice tolerance, & when I can barely taste it, something feels wrong. I'd recommend asking to make it spicier if you're planning to order something spicy. Other than that, it's a great place with an amazingly warm & bustling atmosphere! The sojus tastes great.
We came right at open & it the place filled up with in 30 mins. Had high expectations the place was going be good, but it turned out average. Ordered bibimbap & was extremely disappointed. Bowl came in warm but not sizzling, maybe its me but I thought the bowl should cook the rice so you get that crispy fried rice during the meal. Chill atmosphere, but it doesnt justify the price of the food, your overpaying for average, most of servers are just standing around which is fine but it really just gives off a eat pay leave vibe. Overall 2.5 stars, but Im rounding up.
The Korean Stir Fried Spicy Pork at this restaurant is unparalleled. The chef's special touch makes it the best I've ever tried.
5 stars review for Sam Cha that wonderful Korean restaurant in Montreal. We ordered Takoyaki, Teokk bok Ki, Tofu Salad, Rose cream udon, Sea Food Ramyui, & Kimchi Fried Rice.
We had a wonderful experience at this Korean restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, & the prices were affordable. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Korean meal in Montreal.
