Everyone who was working at this establishment on Easter Sunday needs a lesson in basic customer service.
1 - we ordered some desserts & were served by a women with an orange & brown silk hat who seemed like she hated her life & her job & did everything in her power to avoid speaking. There are zero labels so we asked for a chocolate hazelnut dessert which we described as a Ferrero dessert. There was literally a Ferrero rocher on top of the cake. To avoid disappointed she could have opened her mouth & told us that it was a cheesecake inside the outer layer. Everybody in my family hates cheesecake so it was a huge waste.
2 - I then asked another employee for help. She was a young Italian-looking woman who was mocking me because she couldn't understand basic French, so I switched to English. I wanted a coffee but when I tasted the coffee that was almost empty & seemed to have been sitting there for hours, it was cold. I asked if I could get a hot coffee & she insisted that the coffee should already be hot. It took about 15 back & forth exchanges before she would believe me & offer to make hot coffee.
3 - I came to complain to the only staff member who seemed to have any emotional intelligence about the chocolate cake that was actually a cheesecake (which we learned after biting into it). She apologized for the mishap but wouldn't offer a refund or even an exchange.
Really good tasty pastries & a wide selection of italian products. I like their coffee as well! Ps: This is a cash only business, so make sure to bring cash or you can withdrawal from their ATMS where the fee is inly 1.50
If you're craving authentic Italian food, this local Italian shop is a must-visit. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air, & the sight of handmade pastas & desserts is irresistible. Their selection of breads is perfect. The pasta options are impressive too-perfect for a quick homemade dinner or to stock up for the week. The shop also offers a variety of food to go, from delicious lasagna to freshly made salads, making it an ideal stop if you're in need of a quick, satisfying meal. Don't leave without grabbing one of their house-made desserts-everything from cannoli to tiramisu is on offer, & they're all as delightful as you'd expect from a genuine Italian bakery. Parking is convenient, with a small lot right outside the store, so you won't have to worry about finding a space. Just a heads-up-they only accept cash, but there's an ATM inside for your convenience if you forget. The cash-only policy might be a bit old-school, but it adds to the authentic, neighborhood feel of the place. Overall, it's a hidden gem for lovers of Italian cuisine, offering a little bit of everything with quality that's hard to match.
Honestly, I was not expecting much. But I was definitely blown away! It has everything a normal Italian bakery has, pastries, cakes, imported Italian goods etc. but the best thing that I got was the pastries! I love that they're open late because sometimes a late night craving does hit. Also, & any kind of last-minute situation where anything like this is required, it's nice to know that this is an option. I will be coming back, the pastries I had were actually great. I would highly recommend to anyone!
I was excited to find out that there was a bakery close to my home that was open 24 hours . So I tried it for the first time yesterday. The pizza was amazing. However I was very disappointed. I purchased Italian panini & this morning they were hard . The pastries have been frozen & not fresh. I don't think I will be going back.
Traditional Italian pastry. They have everything. 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. Just impressive for that only. You want an Italian pastry or traditional Italian cookies at 2am in the morning. This is the only place.
As an Italian born in my Italy, this place is what u need if u want to feel the touch of Italy again or for your first time. Places like these cant be found anymore, nowdays everything is too modern but this place remembers me of when my Nonni used to explain me how italy back in the days was: PERFECTION. I would suggest you to come here, every day, every week, every year. I bet you will not exit Salerno without a big smile on your face planning when u will be back.
Offer very fresh Italian bread, pizza & delicious pastries, especially the Sicilian cannot so yummy.
