I was flabbergasted by how good their lentil soup - it may have been the best I ever tasted, & I've tasted a boatload of those.

Their fish pakoras were also some of the best ! The quantity of those were a bit less than other restaurants though to be fair I dont remember how much I paid for them though it may have been fairly priced. The accompanying minty spicy yougurt sauce was so good, I kept dipping my naan in it & applied it to other dishes.

Their Lamb was so delicious, it was incredible. I loved the amount of vegetables, the spices, the tenderness & the overall flavour. The stew/sauce was a little too oily for my taste though.

Their rice was perfect & not too oily.

Their Garlic Naan was very crispy & delicious. it was a bit on the fluffy side & I would have preferred it if it had a stronger garlic flavour but it was still excellent.

We tried the tandori shrimp & that thing was top-notch. It was so flavourful & it came with lots of vegetables sizzling a hot iron cast, it was delicious.

I asked to not have coriander in the food & they were very accommodating, I much appreciated that !

Some of the dishes were great. I was a big fan of the mixed vegetable, the vegetable jalfrezi, egg fried rice, veggie biryani. The other dishes were good too : daal channa, lahori chikar, bhindi, veggie soups but I wouldn't order them again. The naan was good especially the garlic naan. The ingredients used were high quality & there's a unique spice profile but I found the dishes a bit oily so I had to transfer the oil to a separate container & I'll use it for cooking. The food came so hot & was packaged mostly in plastic containers so I'm sure the plastic melts a bit into the food which isn't healthy. It would be preferable to switch to bagasse.

Salateen serves some of the best food I've had in Montreal. The flavors were rich, bold, & authentic, we tried the chicken karahi, nihari, & naan, & every dish was perfectly cooked & full of depth. The karahi had that nice flavor, & the meat was tender & juicy. The naan was fresh & soft.

The staff were very friendly, attentive, & made us feel right at home. The place has a clean, cozy vibe, great for casual dinners with friends or family. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality & portion sizes, you definitely get your money's worth. Highly recommend if you're looking for real, flavorful food that hits the spot.

omg get the chai tea. on a cool november day it feels like a shot of comfort straight into my brain. I also got the butter chicken thali. sooooo yummy. it's perfect for when you want to try a few different dishes but are alone. It comes with butter chicken, channa masala, biriyani rice, naan & salad. if you like ranch the salad is perfect for you, simply lettuce & ranch.

Great service first of all. The owner Hussein as well as their other staff are super polite & accommodating & will gladly entertain you even if you arrive at closing time which is already the latest hour for any restaurant in their vicinity. As for the food, I haven't tried too many options but I always love their Lamb curry with plain & garlic naan. They also have a variant of chicken/ beef chow mein which is adapted to the South Asian palate & isn't quite authentic. Nonetheless, I find it quite good personally & besides, there aren't any halal option for Chinese cuisine in MTL either that I know of. Other than that, there are Middle Eastern visitors there as well who quite enjoy their biryani apparently, from the feedback I got when I asked them. Their entire menu is very reasonably priced too. Highly recommended for late night South Asian food.
