JUST GOT THEIR CHICKEN BRIYANI & WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED BRIYANI HAD NO FLAVOR NO AROMA JUST TOO RICH IN OIL & IN 11$ TWO CHICKEN PIECES WERE ADDED THAT TOO SEEMED ADDED FROM CHICKEN CURRY CHICKEN TASTED DIFFERENT LIKE CURRY & RICE NO TASTE AT ALL EVEN IF BRIYANI SPICES ARE ADDED YOU GET THE TASTE AROMA ETC WILL NEVER RECOMMEND BRIYANI TO ANYONE FROM THEM CHICKEN ROLL WAS AVERAGE .
Salateen serves some of the best food I've had in Montreal. The flavors were rich, bold, & authentic, we tried the chicken karahi, nihari, & naan, & every dish was perfectly cooked & full of depth. The karahi had that nice flavor, & the meat was tender & juicy. The naan was fresh & soft.
The staff were very friendly, attentive, & made us feel right at home. The place has a clean, cozy vibe, great for casual dinners with friends or family. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality & portion sizes, you definitely get your money's worth. Highly recommend if you're looking for real, flavorful food that hits the spot.
We tried beef karahi & chicken tikka masala. The taste was good. Specifically the beef karahi is a must!
omg get the chai tea. on a cool november day it feels like a shot of comfort straight into my brain. I also got the butter chicken thali. sooooo yummy. it's perfect for when you want to try a few different dishes but are alone. It comes with butter chicken, channa masala, biriyani rice, naan & salad. if you like ranch the salad is perfect for you, simply lettuce & ranch.
A good Halal restaurant, We tasted the lamb biryani, the chicken biryani & the non-vegetarian Thali. They were all delicious & full of taste. The owner was so welcoming & kind. A great culinary experience.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Salateen, an Indian/Pakistani restaurant owned by a wonderful Bengali family, & I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, & perfectly spiced, making every bite a delight. The Cumin Rice was fragrant & complemented the dishes beautifully. The Samosas were crispy on the outside & packed with a flavorful filling that left us craving more. The warm, inviting atmosphere & the friendly service made the meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Salateen to anyone looking for an authentic & delicious dining experience. Five stars all the way!
Great service first of all. The owner Hussein as well as their other staff are super polite & accommodating & will gladly entertain you even if you arrive at closing time which is already the latest hour for any restaurant in their vicinity. As for the food, I haven't tried too many options but I always love their Lamb curry with plain & garlic naan. They also have a variant of chicken/ beef chow mein which is adapted to the South Asian palate & isn't quite authentic. Nonetheless, I find it quite good personally & besides, there aren't any halal option for Chinese cuisine in MTL either that I know of. Other than that, there are Middle Eastern visitors there as well who quite enjoy their biryani apparently, from the feedback I got when I asked them. Their entire menu is very reasonably priced too. Highly recommended for late night South Asian food.
Local Bangaldeshi/Indian/Pakistani fusion of dishes. I tend to eat here once every year. Never once did they fail my expectations, the food always tasted great. We know the aunty who works there since we were kids. She's a very sweet lady. You definitely need to try their butter chicken its very tender & creamy. Affordable price & big portions.
First of all the food was delicious, We had the butter lamb, garlic naan, chicken byriani & samosas, everything was fresh & super tasty, the service was fast & super polite, the ambiance was calm. I will go back for sure
I’ve been in Montreal for a week, & this has been the best meal, hands-down. Not fancy, just GOOD comfort food.
Loved the Hakka fried rice & chili chicken. Sultan platter was amazing for our group of 7. We shared everything & had a great time.
