Customers describe Salateen as a welcoming, family-friendly spot with a broad menu of fresh, flavorful halal Indian-Pakistani dishes and great value, with standout items like biryani, haleem, kebabs, chicken karahi, nihari, and garlic naan receiving frequent praise for bold yet balanced flavors and generous portions. The Ramadan or iftar buffet is often highlighted as a highlight, and the staff are repeatedly noted as friendly, attentive, and accommodating, contributing to a warm atmosphere and quick service. While the majority of reviews are glowing, a few mention inconsistencies such as a chicken biryani that was oil-heavy and lacking aroma, and concerns about packaging and oil separation in some dishes, suggesting room for tweaks in presentation and oil management. Overall, Salateen is viewed as one of the top options in Montreal for flavorful, affordable, and satisfying Indian-Pakistani fare.

Some of the dishes were great. I was a big fan of the mixed vegetable, the vegetable jalfrezi, egg fried rice, veggie biryani. The other dishes were good too : daal channa, lahori chikar, bhindi, veggie soups but I wouldn't order them again. The naan was good especially the garlic naan. The ingredients used were high quality & there's a unique spice profile but I found the dishes a bit oily so I had to transfer the oil to a separate container & I'll use it for cooking. The food came so hot & was packaged mostly in plastic containers so I'm sure the plastic melts a bit into the food which isn't healthy. It would be preferable to switch to bagasse.
The first time eating here & it was amazing. Everything was perfect I would definitely bring my family & friends here. The service was impeccable. The food was amazing & I have trouble with spicy food & it was absolutely perfect & my husband feels the same way that we will come back.

Salateen serves some of the best food I've had in Montreal. The flavors were rich, bold, & authentic, we tried the chicken karahi, nihari, & naan, & every dish was perfectly cooked & full of depth. The karahi had that nice flavor, & the meat was tender & juicy. The naan was fresh & soft.
The staff were very friendly, attentive, & made us feel right at home. The place has a clean, cozy vibe, great for casual dinners with friends or family. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality & portion sizes, you definitely get your money's worth. Highly recommend if you're looking for real, flavorful food that hits the spot.
