Had an amazing Ramadan buffet experience at Salateen Restaurant in Montreal. For just $17 CAD the variety of vegetarian & non-vegetarian dishes was impressive.Everything was fresh, flavorful, & authentic. We loved so many items & the desserts were definitely the highlight.
Great atmosphere for iftar & very friendly staff.Highly recommended during Ramadan.
I was flabbergasted by how good their lentil soup - it may have been the best I ever tasted, & I've tasted a boatload of those.
Their fish pakoras were also some of the best ! The quantity of those were a bit less than other restaurants though to be fair I dont remember how much I paid for them though it may have been fairly priced. The accompanying minty spicy yougurt sauce was so good, I kept dipping my naan in it & applied it to other dishes.
Their Lamb was so delicious, it was incredible. I loved the amount of vegetables, the spices, the tenderness & the overall flavour. The stew/sauce was a little too oily for my taste though.
Their rice was perfect & not too oily.
Their Garlic Naan was very crispy & delicious. it was a bit on the fluffy side & I would have preferred it if it had a stronger garlic flavour but it was still excellent.
We tried the tandori shrimp & that thing was top-notch. It was so flavourful & it came with lots of vegetables sizzling a hot iron cast, it was delicious.
I asked to not have coriander in the food & they were very accommodating, I much appreciated that !
Some of the dishes were great. I was a big fan of the mixed vegetable, the vegetable jalfrezi, egg fried rice, veggie biryani. The other dishes were good too : daal channa, lahori chikar, bhindi, veggie soups but I wouldn't order them again. The naan was good especially the garlic naan. The ingredients used were high quality & there's a unique spice profile but I found the dishes a bit oily so I had to transfer the oil to a separate container & I'll use it for cooking. The food came so hot & was packaged mostly in plastic containers so I'm sure the plastic melts a bit into the food which isn't healthy. It would be preferable to switch to bagasse.
A nice adresse with many amazing dishes & the service is too nice, thank you 😊
omg get the chai tea. on a cool november day it feels like a shot of comfort straight into my brain. I also got the butter chicken thali. sooooo yummy. it's perfect for when you want to try a few different dishes but are alone. It comes with butter chicken, channa masala, biriyani rice, naan & salad. if you like ranch the salad is perfect for you, simply lettuce & ranch.
We ordered 5 different vegetarian dishes for take out & they were absolutely delicious.
This place was fabulous. The food was excellent & the service was very efficient. Most of all it was 100% halal. Would recommend it. A variety of freshly made dishes
This is my favorite restaurant in all of Montreal. I've tried most of the local foods in the area - this restaurant is superior in terms of taste & quality. Incredibly well-prepared dishes. Mind blowing flavours gently curated textures & spices. Sauces are perfect. The meat portions could be bigger but it matches their reasonable accessibles prices better that the other local restaurants. Don't miss your chance to try this jewel in Montreal.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Salateen, an Indian/Pakistani restaurant owned by a wonderful Bengali family, & I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, & perfectly spiced, making every bite a delight. The Cumin Rice was fragrant & complemented the dishes beautifully. The Samosas were crispy on the outside & packed with a flavorful filling that left us craving more. The warm, inviting atmosphere & the friendly service made the meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Salateen to anyone looking for an authentic & delicious dining experience. Five stars all the way!
I'm visiting montreal for one month & this restaurant have been my go to place from the beginning everyday ... I tried most items of the menu & I was always satisfied ... the best place for 100% Halal mouth watering dishes !
Local Bangaldeshi/Indian/Pakistani fusion of dishes. I tend to eat here once every year. Never once did they fail my expectations, the food always tasted great. We know the aunty who works there since we were kids. She's a very sweet lady. You definitely need to try their butter chicken its very tender & creamy. Affordable price & big portions.
One of the best Indian dishes I've had in a long time, that Haleem was pure life! Also the owner is very friendly. I'll definitely going back:)
I had once an unsuccessful date here! 😏 But thanks to that, I got to eat their amazing food & become a regular whenever I'm in the neighbourhood. Their Haleem is really tasty & their butter lamb I tried today is really delicious. Do not let the idea of mixture of cuisines they offer throw you off or make you think because it doesn't focus on one only cuisine it's not good. I have not tried their other Asian inspired plates. But the Pakistani/Indian dishes are really good. They are very kind & caring also & welcome you with smile & open arms.
I recently dined at Salareen Restaurant & had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely exquisite, earning a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Each dish was bursting with flavor & expertly prepared. I was thoroughly impressed with the culinary expertise on display.
The service was commendable, earning a 4 out of 5. The staff was attentive ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable. They were prompt in addressing any requests I had, & their knowledge of the menu was evident.
While the food & service were exceptional, I'd like to note that the atmosphere could use a bit of improvement, hence the 3 out of 5 rating. It lacked a bit of the cozy ambiance I usually seek in a restaurant. However, the delectable cuisine more than made up for it.
In conclusion, Salareen Restaurant is a true gem for food enthusiasts. I highly recommend trying their exquisite dishes. The top-notch food & service make it a standout dining destination.

This is where you wanna go, if your looking for real authentic taste. Got to try it to believe it, the grills to main dishes.. Full of endless taste.
