The decor of the restaurant is quite pleasant, following a long narrow path of banquet seating on one side & a lush bar on the opposite side; it provided a nice respite from a cold winter night. For our meal we opted for the Miso Soup (very good), the Chef Salad (not very good...it had a strange fishy flavor that I consider inconsistent with a regular green salad), Salmon & Tune Nigiri Sushi (they were OK), the Prince Maki & Madonna Maki rolls (both of which were also just OK...again, with some strange flavorings that did not sit well). Additionally, while the servicer herself was very good it took a surprisingly long time for us to get our food even though the restaurant was virtually empty. Enjoy!View more
I'd heard a lot about St sushi in plateau but living in Westmount, I chose to try its branch on Greene Ave. First if all I liked the design which has the combination of all cultures from Indian status here & there to Europe items, American menu & Japanese sushi. They've changed the menu to Hollywood version, naming each dish after a singer. As an example, we ordered "Micheal Jackson" & a dish which you can see in the pictures including different types of sushi, like "Madonna". At first, we had a soup that I didn't really enjoy. It was chicken soup liquid with salad. Maybe I am not used to this kind of cuisine. I highly recommend this starter made with salmon & apple, which has a juicy fresh taste😊. All in all, food quality was satisfying.View more
The waiters were aggressive & checked on us between 10-15 times in the hour & 20 minutes that we were there. We did not feel at all welcome. They kept coming to where we were (the front of the restaurant), staring at us, & promptly leaving if they thought we weren't done eating. We were uncomfortable. They seemed to want to get us out of there quickly, despite our reservation being only at 7:30 on a Thursday night, & the restaurant not being busy (there were 2 other tables). We even saw people come in after us, which was why we were very confused about being rushed out.
The Elvis salad was, overall, tasty. The sashimi, however, was pitiful - it tasted old & quite fishy. The avocados in both our salad & the maki were completely brown. We left hungry & are extremely disappointed.
We visit Saint Sushi Westmount once a month & it still is my favorite spot for food, ambiance & personal attention by its staff. Their miso soup is unique, the Elvis salad with salmon, delicious & filling. The three piece Christmas trees is our favorite. The bistro like decor is very pleasant to the eye. I love it.
Saturday sushi night at this marvellous Westmount restaurant. I never tasted such a succulent miso soup. The Elvis salad with salmon is tasty & refreshing & their elegantly crafted sushi presented as Madona & Marvin Grey are unique. We left the restaurant & I was still talking about the refined taste left in my mouth. The two brothers & their staff put their heart into doing their very best in everything they do. Since I am a regular there, I wish the whole Saint crew the very best & may God protect them. I love you guys.
