The dim sum pretty good. The service a bit slow. There not much dim sum selectionView more
I went to the Ruby Rouge for dim sum today around noon & we were three. The resto was about 75% full & we were seated quickly upon arrival. The resto didn't look modern but was still nice with its nostalgic warm old school Chinese decor. Our waitress was quick & friendly. The food was fresh, hot & good. However, even though the restaurant wasn't full there were no more food carts passing by us anymore after only two passed by. We waited about 20 minutes without food & decided to leave after looking everywhere & saw there was no one pushing any dim sum carts in the whole very big restaurant. We weren't the only ones waiting for food. They looked understaffed with their waiters & waitresses running around & no one pushing the dim sum carts at some point, I've never seen that before anywhere. I wouldn't go back there if I were starving but would go back with friends to catch up & take our time to eat & chat because the food & service were good & it's a nice place but the waiting was also very long to the point we left still hungry.View more
Authentic Dim sum cart service in a banquet hall style place. You can order a la carte earlier & the carts come around about 10:30. It was authentic & everything we had was tasty. Service was fine. They asked if we wanted things earlier for the kids we had with us before the carts came around. Enjoyed the experience & would come back!View more
We were craving dim sum while in Montreal. This restaurant located on the 2nd floor inside a small mall. We were seated quickly & was asked what tea we wanted. Was nice to see push cart ordering here. We ordered five dishes to try. Overall the quality of the dim sum was average. We went on a Friday & it was not too busy so it could explain why some of the dim sum wasn't as fresh. The fried squid was cold & a bit rubbery. The har gow was decent.View more
Off the beaten path but totally worth it! Don't listen to the negative reviews. The food is so good, & highly recommend dim sum. Servers are not going to check on you like how you might be used to in our western culture, just raise your hand & get their attention & you'll be just fine! Only thing to watch out for is ordering too much food, it's so easy to do when you're hungry & portions here are really big!View more
Went on a Sunday, usually the most busy day for dim sum. Waited 20 for pot of tea, food carts were very few & far between (I had to get up to look for food with the bill), & when I did finish a dish they were accumulating on my table cause there was no one to take them away. I even had to go get my own hot water to refill my tea pot. Also, if you don't believe in shrinkflation, it's hell of a real thing. All & I mean ALL the food is smaller, but prices are higher. & now they charge .50 for a takeaway box. If you're gonna go that far too Chinatown for Chinese food from the suburbs, might as well drive to the west island & go to imperial right off the 40. Red ruby has changed & not for the better.View more
It's not the fanciest - nor the prettiest - but the Dim Sum here is classic & is brought around by fun women pushing carts. A classic in Montreal.View more
Variety of options from steamed to fried cooked. Dim sum & many other options to order from. Priced below par, but quality kept up.🤩View more

Third visit to Ruby Rouge & we were a little nervous going in because of the influx of negative reviews. I want to say I have no idea what these reviewers were talking about, we had a lovely time. We did dim sum this time, & the only issue was getting something we didn't order & not getting one thing we tried to order. But that probably just comes down to a miscommunication with multiple language barriers! We didn't love all the food but that's what happens when you try something new. The delicious food was delicious as always, & we tried some new things that we loved! We ordered way too much, though! Leftovers for tomorrow!View more
The place to go for Dim Sum in China-town! Great dumplings. Delicious sesame balls! Fun, busy atmosphere. Highly recommend!View more
Located on the 2nd floor. We had some difficulties finding which door to enter from on the ground level but eventually found the right one. There is an underground garage across the street where we parked. $10 CAD for under 2 hours.
Came here for dim sum on a Thursday afternoon. Got seated right away. Pretty big space with lots of tables. They accept credit cards including Amex. Dim sum was good, I got my usuals that I normally get in NYC. The cart rotations were on the slower side but we weren’t in a rush. You know it’s good dim sum when you see the grannies. They also have a la carte items you can order. We got the lobster with noodles & a fried tofu dish.View more
Toujours aussi excellent les Dim Sum de ce resto-ci depuis ma jeunesse! Ma préférée de toutes les autres au Quartier-Chinois à Mtl! Service à la clientèle toujours très attentionné & très amical! Un beau compliment au Chef! & Merciii!View more
I went here with my grandparents & they were very accommodating for my grandfather who is hard of hearing. The food was really good, I recommend the sweet & sour pork. The gentleman who served was very generous & hospitable! We'll definitely be back for their lunch time dim sum.
One of the worst dim sum services in Montreal. The cart ladies were rude, they did not provide us with adequate sauces for our different orders, they were ill equipped for serving food. The choices of dim sum were very limited. Their waitresses were unhelpful & unpleasant. They made us feel uncomfortable to ask them for anything at all. When came time to pay the bill. Needless to say 15% tip would have been exaggerated & too generous, so we took the liberty to hold back. Only to get a comment from our waitress about not tipping enough... are you freakin' serious?!
Overall extremely disappointed with the service & the lack of variety of dim sums. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one, at least not for their dim sum service.
I went for dim sum & although I found the squid excellent, my partner found the food too salty.
Good food in my opinion but you'll take a gamble eating at ruby red.
