Tragically overhyped place :(
Overcooked pasta, tough steak, soggy zucchini chips & more (indoor) moths than i'd care to fight off on a night out

Amazing❤? all round from the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff was so welcoming, they explained menu options, food came quickly & was absolutely delicious. Do not order the clams (palourdes) it was the most disappointing order Ive ever received, not a consistent meal & I had to eat at another place afterwards because I was in fact still very hungry. & it was 36 $. Quelle expérience ! Car oui, pour une personne de la quarantaine c'est une expérience. On dans ses jeunes années avec de la musique des années 2000, sélectionnée avec soin par le gérant des lieux. On est dans un décor de dinning American mais qui aurait connu un upgrade. La nourriture y est très bonne, influence d'italien avec d'autres saveurs européennes, & bien sûr quelques must américain comme leur célèbre burger. L'équipe y est jeune, style hypster. Clientèle également très jeune.
J'ai adoré les zucchini avec sa sauce façon tzatziki. Le crudo de loup de mer avec ses accompagnants frais & acidulés. Ainsi que le Beach pie (tarte au citron revisitée).
++++: la musique, il ne me manquait que le dance floor personnellement.

Excellent evening at Romies for my partner' birthday. We were very lucky to have Felix serve us. He made our experience even better! Food & atmosphere are both wonderful. The food: we had a hard time choosing, all amazing choices! We started off with Amaretto sour & cherry whiskey sour. Outstanding! Followed by exceptional wine. We had the Brutus salad, fried zucchini & the cruddo. Our mains were a burger & ribs. Lots of food but we took some home. To finish the meal, we had the beach pie. Divine! Looking forward to go back in the summer when we can enjoy the terrace! Go, go, go!View more

Had dinner last night at Romies, & the food is just amazing. Everyone loved it. The crudo branzino app was out of this world. & the rib eye steak was tops. My buddy who normally only eats filet mignon, tried some of my rib eye & said it was the best steak he's ever had. Romies officially converted him lol.View more

We had high expectations for Romies considering how much we love its team's other restaurant, Arthurs, but unfortunately they were not met on this evening.
On the positive side, the food was phenomenal (especially the burger, pasta, & blackout cake), & they have cultivated a really cool vibe through the design, open kitchen, bar, etc.
That said, what really let us down was the service. From the hop, our server was rude, dismissive, & barely checked in. Then, he brought the wrong bottle of wine to our table, which we politely corrected, & then he proceeded to place that $100 bottle on my friend's bill (perhaps hoping she would not notice?). Also, we were there for my birthday & to kick off the night's celebrations (which was noted on the reservation), & there was absolutely no acknowledgement - not even placing a candle in the slice of cake I ordered. Don't get me wrong, we were not expecting to be catered to by any means, but being a bit more welcoming overall would have gone a long way.View more
