Unfortunately they did not have the bahn mi when I was there. I would try visiting around 2pm to get bahn mi - when I was there at noonish they said that the delivery of baguettes from the bakery would probably come in an hour or two.
I hope they can figure out a more consistent delivery from the bakery soon. I was really hoping to have the bahn mi, but the chicken rouleaux de printemps were good. They come with a peanut hoisin sauce that was delicious.
Good & friendly service.
I don't understand the rating this place has, it's some of the worst Vietnamese I've ever had.
The rice was overcooked & mushy, thankfully the vermicelli was well cooked. If the pickled vegetables are homemade, it would be a surprise to me because what I just ate had a texture & flavour that made it seem like it came from a store bought jar, it was very soft & flavourless. The lettuce & mint included had quite a few brown spots, & I couldn't tell you whatever the white sauce on the lettuce was because it was flavourless. The imperial rolls didn't taste like much, & were quite small considering their cost, the sauce that same with them & both meals ordered was mediocre at best but again lacked flavour.
The soup is well, not really a soup it's just broth with a few onion bits , broth which tastes like it was seasoned with black pepper & not much else, it didn't taste like pho. While the owner has commented on another review saying it's meant to be this way, it would be nice if the menu properly described the food you're receiving.
The desserts, & their potential are the only reason it's 2 stars & not one. The fillings are good, the lemon custard is a nicely balanced sweet & tangy, & pecans a sweet with a crumbly yet somehow creamy filling. They are unfortunately ruined by an incredibly dry crust, so dry I questioned if it had been baked or if it was just flour somehow pressed into a crust.
I have no clue how this place is well rated because I've eaten at places with much lower ratings that were far better. This restaurant is simply taking advantage of gluten free people, & their loved ones who will go here with them, by charging 30$ for a combo not worth half of that. I understand the owner is celiac, & that just makes things even more disappointing.
I loved the food! My daughter is celiac & everything was perfect for her all gluten free & very good. definitely recommend checking this place out
Very disappointed with our order. I was looking forward to trying this vietnamese place as vietnamese cuisine is known for fresh ingredients but the meal was not fresh at all. It looked very good until the first bites & I am shocked this is still in your serving. Not only the salad but the mint, the coriander were not fresh at all. Hence the whole meal lack of taste. For that reason, I don't recommand this place.
I've been multiple times now & everytime I go they never have the gluten free bread in convinced they just don't buy it at this point.do better people !!!
