Across reviews, Rockaberry is seen as a dessert focused destination in Montreal with a cozy, relaxed vibe that invites long visits and friendly chatter, ample seating, and a welcoming atmosphere. The desserts are the highlight, with standout items including Boston Cream Cheesecake, apple crumble cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, Nutella cake, and a key lime pie; portions are generous and the variety of pies and cakes draws repeat visits. The menu also offers vegetarian desserts and options beyond desserts, including dinners and cocktails, making it more than just a dessert cafe. Service receives mixed notes: many describe staff as friendly and attentive, while some reviews recount moments of less attentive or inconsistent service that can affect the mood. Prices can be on the higher side, with some calls for smaller portions to improve value, yet the quality and consistency of the desserts are repeatedly praised. The locations, including Griffintown, are described as lively and atmospheric, with some comments on a darker interior but overall inviting, plus clean washrooms, good parking, and a vibe conducive to birthdays or casual nights out.
Come for the pies, & get it for takeout. We always reorder Apple Crumb cheese. We also like the Oreo cheesecake, Raspberry Fudge or the Caramel fudge cheese. The only Rockaberry spot in the area, therefore, it can get pretty busy. Service is very detached & rushed. Not friendly, not the best around. The food itself is very salty, the coffee cocktails are decent but I would not order again. Ambiance is average.
The cake was amazing & the place has a great ambiance. The waitress was really nice & attentive. I would definitely come back to try the other cakes. The coffee was okay, but I guess that's a matter of taste.
I've been serveral times here with my friends either to dine in or just do a quick take out. We love all the pies, lunch combos & the milshakes from here. It's a perfect. Most of the times the staff is really friendly but this last time, the waiter wasn't really great. I waited for my bill quite a bit (the place was almost empty, btw). Then, I needed to go to the counter to ask for it because he was just chatting with somebody (not even looking at our table). At the end he was like "wait at your table I'll bring it there" when I was literally already standing at the cash machine. Anyway we ended up waiting for another bit for him just to put the machine at the table next to us. Kinda rude. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Nice desserts selections & their cakes are amazing. They can make cakes very personalized & with attention to allergies & dietary restrictions. Highly recommended.
The cake was good. Gnocchi is terrible & is definitely not homemade like theyre saying. Gnocchi is supposed to be soft & melts in your mouth not hard & cewy. Disappointed i had to pay $20 for something i didnt eat. They said the table next to me didnt have a problem so that is why i had to pay. I think people just do not know how gnocchi is supposed to taste & are too polite to say anything
