Review Summary

Phnom Penh is widely regarded as an authentic and cherished hidden gem, celebrated for its consistent, high-quality Cambodian and Vietnamese dishes like the signature hu tieu. While the setting is modest and no-frills, the welcoming service and comforting, traditional flavors create a nostalgic and ritualistic experience for many longtime patrons. The restaurant is known for its incredible value and delicious, customizable meals, though visitors should note that it is a cash-only establishment, can get very busy on weekends, and occasionally requires a wait in line due to its popularity.

Line up can get really crazy & nothing is worth hours of waiting. Especially when it goes out the door & you have to stand in the staircase going up. Parking is a little difficult to find. They specialize in a Vietnamese dish called Hu Tieu & you can have it either dry with soup on the side or noodles in the soup. It is typically simple & easy to make with lots of cheap ingredients. But if you aren't cooking this for a lot of people, this is a quick easy way to get your Hu Tieu fix. Dough fritters are really good too. If you are in Montreal, I would recommend this as cheap eats but excellent value & taste for the price. Ate here a few times & it has been consistent which I also look for when handing out 5/5 stars.
