My friend & I shared a veggie combo & each dish was so flavourful & delicious. We also got a mango smoothie, which was really tasty. The woman who works there (I assume she's the owner) was also really nice & friendly.View more
I was visiting from Toronto & craving some good Habesha food while in Montreal. After some searching, I found Nakfa Restaurant & decided to give it a try; & I'm glad I did! I ordered the combo for one, which came with a generous mix of meat & vegan options: white tibs, key tibs, shiro, cabbage, greens, salad, & a spicy red key siga wot called zigni. Everything was delicious & well-prepared; full of flavor & cooked perfectly. The portion was just right for one person, & I also enjoyed a nice cup of tea with the meal.
The service was good, though there's a bit of room for improvement. The space is quite small, & it wasn't easy to find a seat. I found the price a bit higher than what I'm used to in Toronto; I paid around $50 including a 15% tip; not sure why the difference, but the quality made up for it.
Overall, it was a great experience & a solid spot for authentic Habesha food in Montreal. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in the city!View more
The owner was warm & welcoming who took great care in presenting her food. The brown meat stew in the centre was especially tasty. She checked on us frequently & made sure we had enough injera to swoop up all the delicious stew.View more
Ridiculously good Eritrean/Ethiopian food prepared by an extremely welcoming owner! We got the Meat Platter (2-3 pax) for $48 excl. taxes. Food took a while to come but it's 100% worth the wait!View more
Delicious! We had the mixed vegetarian & meat for two. The service was pretty quick. I've also taken out here & it's been fast. I highly recommend going here!View more
Always a five star experience at Nakfa. I've been here several times & the cuisine is consistently delicious. The service is similarly always top notch & wonderfully warm. (The owners are lovely people.) Highly recommend the post-dinner traditional coffee & popcorn experience!View more
We went with my family for lunch. We orded one non-fasting combo & one fasting combo. The taste was nice & the meat was tender. The variety of the souce was many which helped to enjoy your favorite source. As there was only one shef who also served us, we waited a bit long (about 25 minutes). As we were craving for Ethiopian food, it was a good choice. I appreciate the effort & dedication of the guy. I advice him not to put earphones while working. I advice to plan for about 2 hours.View more
Food, service & atmosphere was amazing! This was our first time trying Eritrea cuisine & it does not disappoint. Thank you to the team there for putting their heart & passion in making their meals.View more
I visited this restaurant last week with friends & had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious, & the person working there was kind & helpful. It was my first time trying Eritrean cuisine, & I was pleasantly surprised by how similar it is to Ethiopian food. The menu offers great sharing options, & I highly recommend ordering a combo to enjoy with friends. This little gem is definitely worth a visit, & I'm already looking forward to coming back!View more
Stumbled upon this gem, I was in Côte-Saint-Luc & got hungry, googled restaurants near me & went in solely based on the pictures people shared. Food was outstanding, service was more than 5 stars but Google capped it at 5. Will definitely go again. Had the meat & vegetarian combo for 2-3 ppl. We were 2 & took a good portion home so definitely would be good for 3.View more
11/10. The food is a next level experience, with incredible flavors, colors & spices. The service was impeccable & we were received with so much kindness. The decor felt authentic & transported us to Eritrea. All in all, a gem in Montreal to discover.View more
Nice service, delicious food & the meat is halal. It would be great if they also played some quiet music in the background.View more

"I recently visited Nakfa Restaurant & we had an amazing experience! his name is kahsay friendly, attentive gentle man & the atmosphere was cozy & inviting. The food was incredible - we ordered "Meat Combo " & it was flavorful & plentiful. The injera was fresh perfect ! Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine in Montreal. from Hamilton O.NView more
The food is superb here, with the spices perfectly balanced. Between this place, Queen Sheba, & Nil Bleu, this one is my favorite. Prices are very reasonable: At $48, this plate (with another side of injera) served myself & my partner who did a half marathon this morning & needed 1500 calories intake. The last time I was here with 2 girl friends, we couldn't finish the plate. Service was warm & friendly; be prepared to wait for slow cooking if you arrive early, though it was well worth the wait.View more
Restaurant familial les proprietaires sont très gentils! Portions généreuse! Je recommandeView more
Amazing food. We're vagan & ate very well. The staff are wonderful. Nice warm ambiance.View more
The food was really good, but the injera is stickier & thicker than what I'm used to. They also sell injera, berbere, & shiro paste! Would be nice if they played Ethiopian music instead of a talk showView more
