Le Canal est largement salué pour ses fruits de mer ultra frais, une carte variée et flexible et une ambiance chaleureuse et familiale qui met les clients à l'aise que ce soit sur place ou à emporter; le système au comptoir permet de choisir les fruits de mer au poids et de les faire préparer sur place, avec de nombreux plats salués pour leur saveur, leur qualité et leurs portions généreuses à un prix raisonnable; l'ambiance est décontractée et animée aux heures d'affluence, il est donc conseillé de réserver, le personnel est régulièrement décrit comme aimable et attentif, et l'expérience globale est souvent présentée comme délicieuse, fraîche et bien présentée.
This place is a gem!!! Absolutely loved our experience here & will definitely be back soon. The tuna, cod & calamari was delicious as was the garden salad & fries!

I had an incredibly enjoyable dining experience at Restaurant Le Canal! The dishes were absolutely delightful: the fresh seafood was cooked to perfection, especially the grilled shrimp & octopus, which were perfectly seasoned with a lovely blend of herbs & seafood flavors in every bite. The fried small fish were crispy & delicious, & the lemon added a refreshing zest. The salad was fresh & well-seasoned, offering a crisp & pleasant taste. The restaurant was clean & tidy, & the service was warm & attentive. The overall atmosphere was cozy & relaxing, making it a great choice for family dinners or gatherings with friends. Highly recommended!
the greatest seafood experience i've ever experienced in montreal. been ordering from here multiple times for many years & have never been disappointed (except once when i paid extra by accident). highly suggest trying out the family combos
Allhamduillah! This place truly knows how to bring the flavour from every dish to your tastebuds. Great crew, exceptional service, fresh food & a nostalgic smell of Egyptian food/cooking.
They have a great variety of seafood & everything I tried was excellent! I was a little worried at first because we were a pretty big group but our server was very accommodating & everything went smoothly. First time there but not the last!
Follow this tip & save time - call & reserve your table for dine in! Arrived at around 6pm on a Friday & it was packed to the brim, immediately placed our name on the wait-list. Greeted with the melodious recitation of the Quran, I'm confident that the food will be served high quality as Muslims with business are only supposed to serve the best to their customers, rest assured. Around 20mins later got seats & the table was prepared promptly. Headed down to the seafood display area, great variety of fishes & seafood, tempting anyone with a huge appetite. You pick your seafood & they will cook this up to your choice. Ordered the salmon (grilled), scallops (grilled with butter & herbs), fries with this really lovely sour cream ish flavor, branzino (deep fried) to perfection, shrimp (with spicy sauce) & yellow rice. We smashed them within minutes, they were all so good especially the shrimp with spicy sauce & the deep fried branzino. There is an equivalent concept to this in NYC called Abuqir but we believe this restaurant Le Canal is cleaner, more organized, bigger dining area & to be honest the flavors were better. No need to mention HALAL here since in the Quran it is mentioned "Lawful to you is what you catch from the sea & use for food as provision for yourself & the travelers".

Great food, fresh fish, on display, you choose one & they prepare it the way you want. The rest of the menu is also really good. Friendly staff, clean restaurant & facilities. The food is simply amazing, they also have a selection of good desserts.
First time there & I love how you can see the food you're going to eat, the food was delicious. The soup was next level. I love how the calamari was a nice size, you can tell there's quality. The restaurant is very clean, everyone there was kind. I will 100% go back & bring my family!
Superb seafood restaurant. You select your fish & they grill or fry to your liking. Very friendly staff & welcoming owner. I drove from Toronto to try it out & it was worth the 6+ hours drive Highly recommended
This is a must try spot. Had grilled scallops, octopus, bronzino & fried calamari. As sides we had salad, rice , & grilled veggies. The octopus & scallops were my favorite. Everything was super fresh & seasoned greatly. Drove 45 minutes to get to this place & would definitely do it again if I end up back in Montreal again.

Personnellement je n'y retourne plus. Le restaurant accepte une capacité de gens beaucoup plus que ce qu'il peut servir. On était tassé comme des "sardines". & le service été médiocre. J'ai dû aider le serveur à débarrasser la table pour pouvoir avoir notre gâteau de fête. Le bruit est infernale . Nous étions un groupe de 10 personnes. Différentes sortes de filets de poisson ont été commandés. On n:a ruen eu en même temps & le serveur ne savait la sorte dans le plat...alors on ne savait pas le plat était destiné à qui ! Je n'ai pas apprécié ce concept de ne pas pouvoir avoir tous kes plats en même temps. Le riz "sayadeya" ne goûtait que le cumin en forte dose. Les crevettes etaient bonnes. Désolée mais il y a d'autres restaurant du même genre beaucoup mieux organisé & on y mange avec plaisir. Une bonne réorganisation est requise selon moi.
Poisons & fruits de mers préparé suite à la sélection. Le plat de pieuvre est un de meilleur jamais goûter. Le calamar & shrimp étaient excellent. Le toute était délicieux . Mais ce que je ne comprends pas est que le merlin coute plus chère que les shrimps. Vous pouvez voir dans la photo c'était 6 .
