Originally from a port city on the Mediterranean has its reputation of seafood meal we have to meet the high expectations that it comes with the name CANAL.
Le Canal offre une expérience de fruits de mer frais dans une ambiance familiale et décontractée au bord du canal, avec des saveurs méditerranéennes et des influences égyptiennes qui séduisent les amateurs de poisson. I had an incredibly enjoyable dining experience at Restaurant Le Canal! The dishes were absolutely delightful: the fresh seafood was cooked to perfection, especially the grilled shrimp & octopus, which were perfectly seasoned with a lovely blend of herbs & seafood flavors in every bite. The fried small fish were crispy & delicious, & the lemon added a refreshing zest. The salad was fresh & well-seasoned, offering a crisp & pleasant taste. The restaurant was clean & tidy, & the service was warm & attentive. The overall atmosphere was cozy & relaxing, making it a great choice for family dinners or gatherings with friends. Highly recommended!
This is a must try spot. Had grilled scallops, octopus, bronzino & fried calamari. As sides we had salad, rice , & grilled veggies. The octopus & scallops were my favorite. Everything was super fresh & seasoned greatly. Drove 45 minutes to get to this place & would definitely do it again if I end up back in Montreal again.
The grilled octopus is absolutely phenomenal! I also had the tiger shrimps, & the salad/sauce on the bottom tasted like heaven. Highly, highly recommend this place!
Finally got my fish & seafood loving family here for dinner ! The food was SO amazing & SO tasty. The grilled fish (salmon & tilapia) was perfection & portions generous. The batter on the fish (& chips) was delicate & delicious so the taste of the fish was the focal point. The octopus salad was really really good (but too much salad dressing) Definitely a new favorite & we will be back to try other things on the menu !

This place is far & away from those tourist spots in Montreal but YOU MUST TRY HERE! It's a hidden jam. You basically choose what seafood you want to eat & let them know the size by pound. They will ask whether to grill them or fry, they are all your choice. You can look at the prices online & decide. We ordered half pound shrimp & octopus, a whole seabass, small rice & grilled veggies. Everything was so amazing & price was perfect too. Our portion was really for 3-4 people but we (2) wanted to try different things. It was a lot of food for two ppl but we still ate them all 😂 we were super full at the end but came back home with happy stomach. The owner & everyone else were so kind & friendly.💖
Food was incredible, one of the best octopus dishes I've had! We were served quickly & prices were more than acceptable. Highly recommend & will be going back again! ❤️

The food is awesome! The octopus is absolutely incredible. Shrimps were amazing & the friend calamari we're very tasty. Looking forward to going back! Great staff too!
Most recommended place to try sea food. If you don't like seafood you need to come to this place it will definitely change your mind. Here are my recommended dishes if you don't like seafood: -Octopus with the large salad. The octopus taste like wet chicken (it's like chicken curry, but more wet). This is how you need to eat the octopus: take a small portion of the salad & then take a small portion of the octopus & have more salad, make sure everything is mixed & you have more salad than octopus. -Scallops Take small portions & dip it into the shrimp cocktail sauce. -Lobster Take a small portion dip it into provided sauce. The salad will be your best friend & also potato wedges will help you as well 😉
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Everything is so fresh, seasoned & cooked to perfection. I recommend the grilled octopus & the scallops. The grilled shrimp are also great. Honestly, this is some of the best seafood I've ever had. The service is also very quick & friendly!

Outstanding, Outstanding, Outstanding!!!!! If you want authentic Egyptian seafood or the best seafood you ever had, this is the place to be. When you walk in, the fresh seafood is right there on the counter over ice, you pick what you want & have it grilled of fried. Grilled or fried, you can't go wrong. The season the fish with wonderful Egyptians spices. I recommend the octopus gilled, the jumbo tiger shrimp & seabass grilled with veg. We also ordered the seafood soup & it was also incredible. The décor is nothing outstanding but who cares, the food is what you are there for. Don't think twice, reserve your spot & go.

If your local for the best freshest sea food this place is a must . The calamari is actually fantastic not to chewy & lightly breaded . The octopus was a perfect appetizer not over salty like I many places . The owner son gave us friendly welcome & checked up on us a bunch . This place is must
