About

Restaurant Kuljit India serves a comprehensive selection of traditional North Indian cuisine focusing on authentic spice profiles and time-honored cooking methods. The menu features a variety of protein-rich tandoori specialties prepared in a clay oven alongside slow-cooked curries utilizing complex blends of freshly ground aromatics. Patrons encounter staples such as butter chicken and vegetable-based dals crafted with seasonal ingredients and traditional fats. The preparation emphasizes distinct heat levels and balanced textures characteristic of regional South Asian culinary heritage. Each dish arrives with freshly baked naan or basmati rice to complement the primary sauce components of the plate. This establishment prioritizes consistent flavor profiles and traditional plating techniques while maintaining a standard selection of regional beverages and cooling condiments that complete the savory experience for every visitor seeking these specific culinary traditions.

Review Summary

Restaurant Kuljit India is widely recognized as a go-to destination for authentic, high-quality Punjabi cuisine in Montreal, frequently praised for its fresh flavors, generous portions, and budget-friendly prices. Many guests appreciate the homely, traditional style of the dishes, with standouts like chana bhatura, biryani, and samosas earning consistent acclaim. While the dining experience is often described as warm and welcoming, some visitors note inconsistencies in service, occasional issues with restaurant maintenance, and varying experiences with spice levels or dish consistency. Despite mixed feedback regarding staff friendliness and the aging decor, the restaurant remains a popular choice for those seeking reliable, tasty, and affordable Indian food.

Extremely delicious & flavourful food. We ordered the fish pakoras, lentil soup, samosas & chat samosas for appetizers. Even the kids ate it all! The flavours were intense without being overpowering. The goat curry, lamb stew with coconut milk & chicken vindaloo were fantastic. We ordered some of the dishes spicy & they hit the mark without making it too intense. Both fried naan & regular naan were really fresh & crispy. The papadams, raita & paalak panneer were great as well. The owners & servers had a lot of patience considering there were a few rowdy kids there that night, & that is always a bonus for the parents. Highly recommended!!!
