I came here after watching a video suggesting to visit this restaurant. As I entered, we got seated right away. The place had a good amount of locals dining in. The service was great at the beginning but after food was served it was pretty slow. It took a while for us to get the bill as there was only 2 waiters.
We got the half leg with fries & the combo w chicken & pork. You get a salad & the dressing was amazing! I got the soup, it was good & different. Also ordered, the sangria (tasted like juice), flan (definitely not my favorite - it was just too bitter).Voir plus
The chicken leg is hands down the best I’ve had - always so tender & tasty! If you haven’t tried Portuguese chicken, this is definitely the place to go. You also definitely need to get a Nata dessert to top it all off - they’re not too heavy & just the right amount of custardy yumminess! :)Voir plus
Nice atmosphere... Tables are close to each other but sat next to a lovely couple. Good was good. Had grilled shrimp to start which was good. Main course of grilled chicken breast & chorizo sausage & fries which was also good. Good & attentive wait staff.Voir plus

This place is our favourite spot. We go there few times a year. So far, any food that I have had there has been superb. Their chicken is addictive.
went there for the chicken & left slightly disappointed. i found that there was hardly any flavor. it was an ordinary chicken which i could have eaten anywhere. i wasnt impressed with the resto. prices on the other hand are great for the portions they serve.
Sometimes one simply has to satisfy one's cravings, & I can't help returning to Jano for the $15 combo of barbecued chicken & lamb. It's not fancy, it's not sophisticated, but when the need arises it's just right. Actually, the whole ensemble is great value, with fresh bread & olives to start, & (an admittedly pretty lack lustre) salad to follow. For the price, one can hardly complain. The main plate, served with a mug of hot sauce & a paint brush to apply it, is dirty in the best possible sense. Utterly satisfying!
Service is a bit brusque, but efficient enough. The atmosphere varies depending on the night & the time, but it's often pretty packed. After a few beers my stomach tells me there is nowhere I'd rather be.

I just came back from that little jewel of a restaurant. I must admit i was seduced completely. I had the grill calamari & the special combo (Chicken & Veal chop) platter. I topped off this spectacular main dish with the crème caramel & an "allongé" expresso. At $15, it's hard to beat the combo roast chicken & veal chop. The grilled calamari was great & the service was top notch.
If you are looking for an affordable table outside of the norm, consider Jano.
The close-up grilling action as you walk by on St. Laurent is very enticing, drawing in loads of tourists during the summer. As mentioned by other reviewers, the service isn't always the greatest & there might be a bit of a wait for a table.
If you're dining as a vegetarian, I can't imagine you'd like this place much. The specialty is grilled meats & that's what you'd come here for. There's a nice selection of meats to choose from, & if you can't decide, you can have the chef decide for you or get a sampler of 4. I recommend the sausage, squid, lamb & especially the rabbit. My experience with the pork & chicken has been hit or miss - I'm under the impression that some meats are grilled in anticipation of orders & sort of left to stay warm for service. Every meal comes with a very boring roll & a basic, yet pleasant salad with a nice vinaigrette.
