I was initially very excited to have a new pupusa place in the area but my experience left me very disappointed. I ordered 2 pupusa of each flavour for takeout, I waited 30 minutes before receiving my order. I was the only person there except for the owners family… The pupusa we're quite strangely made… some had filling only on one side with the other side no filling at all, the cheese one has almost no cheese & it wasn't melted. The best one was the chicharron but once again half of the pupusa was empty, the other meat one was quite dry. Maybe the cook was having a bad day but this was my first experience & its going to be hard to come back after that.

Lovely place, the food is delicious & very affordable. (FYI this review was written when Iris specialized in Salvadoran pupusas. The restaurant switched owners since then & is now a Mexican restaurant that I haven't tried.)

I had walked by this place a dozen times & went in on a whim not sure what to expect. I got the Iris Special - a filling plate with eggs, pupusa, beans, plantain, & sausage. It was was perfectly cooked, cohesive, & tasty, particularly the pupusa & beans. Will try the breakfast next time!
