Grinder restaurant is located on Notre-Dame street, in the heart of Griffintown. Indeed, this neighborhood located in the southwest of Montreal is dynamic and promising; residential and commercial projects are already underway.
The original decor screams Zébulon Perron (Furco, Buvette à Simone, Philémon). He created a comfortable and warm restaurant, kitchen and raw bar. Grinder characterizes itself by vintage and modern elements such as glass and metal.
On the menu, raw & cooked items: tartares, tatakis, ceviches, carpaccios, etc. Also on the menu, steaks and grilled or braised pieces of meats, all to be shared. Grinder also offers a variety of fish and seafood, served cooked or raw as well. More than a simple steakhouse, all food lovers will find something to their liking among their selection of fresh products.
A 100% of their wine list consists of privately imported wines, always changing with the seasons, and of course focusing on wines produced while respecting nature.

Nous avons été accueillis au Grinder par une hôtesse chaleureuse, qui nous a immédiatement mis à l'aise. En moins d'une minute, nous étions déjà à notre table, où Léa, notre serveuse, nous attendait. Elle s'est révélée être la meilleure serveuse que j'aie jamais rencontrée. Dès notre arrivée, elle nous a demandé d'où nous venions & a engagé la conversation, ce qui a rendu l'expérience encore plus agréable. Je sais que ce type d'établissement a des normes de service à respecter, mais Léa a su aller au-delà. Elle nous a aidés à choisir nos plats avec des suggestions excellentes & personnalisées. Après le service, elle est venue à notre table plusieurs fois pour s'assurer que tout était à notre goût. Son attention & son sourire constant ont vraiment fait la différence. Nous lui avons également demandé des recommandations pour des speakeasies, & elle s'est engagée à revenir avec une liste d'adresses. Quinze minutes plus tard, elle était de retour avec un papier contenant plusieurs options à explorer. En guise de conclusion, avant de partir, elle nous a offert des shots (hot shots), une attention délicate. En résumé, le service était exceptionnel, l'ambiance chaleureuse & cosy. Le personnel a fait preuve d'un professionnalisme exemplaire, mais ce qui a véritablement élevé notre expérience, c'est Léa. This place is an absolute must if you're looking for a fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, & exceptional service. The valet service was a lifesaver-finding parking in Montreal can be a challenge, so it made our visit even smoother. Special shoutout to our server, Benjamin, who guided us effortlessly through the menu & made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the Tomahawk for three, which came with lobster, shrimp, scallops, & three side dishes. The cheddar mash was incredible-a must-have! The steak was perfectly seasoned, & every bite was full of flavor. I'd happily order it again. Portion-wise, it was just right for two people (or maybe we just have a hearty appetite, haha!). For dessert, we went with Benjamin's recommendation, a Montreal favorite. I don't remember the name, but it was a delightful warm dessert paired with cold ice cream-a perfect combination. To top it all off, we were treated to complimentary espresso shots, a wonderful way to end the meal. Overall, everything was perfect. Dining at this Montreal restaurant was nothing short of an unforgettable experience. Specializing in both raw & cooked meats, along with exquisite seafood meant for sharing, every dish was a celebration of flavor & freshness. Complementing the meal was an impressive selection of boutique wines, & our lovely bottle paired perfectly with each course. The cocktails, too, were expertly crafted, adding another layer of sophistication to the evening. What truly stood out was the exceptional service-Montreal restaurants really know how to create a world-class dining experience. We had a variety of servers attending to us, each more passionate & eager to please than the next. Unlike the more reserved, sometimes disconnected service we've experienced in Toronto, this team worked seamlessly together, always happy to assist one another. It was refreshing to feel so genuinely welcomed & cared for. The atmosphere was really good. I mean really, really good. The food was also good. The steak cut was not absolutely perfect to my liking, which is a shame given that this is a butchery in the first place, then a restaurant. The price is premium. But that is expected for this level of food, service & atmosphere. We had a free valet parking. I am not sure, however, if this is something offered by the restaurant or it was provided by the organizers of our event.View more
