Review Summary

Restaurant Fu Jia is recognized as an authentic, humble, and affordable hidden gem in Saint Laurent that specializes in Northeastern Chinese cuisine. While the dining space is cozy and intimate with limited seating, the menu offers a wide variety of flavorful options that are frequently described as delicious. Although some patrons noted the presence of excess oil in certain dishes and experienced occasional gaps in service efficiency, the overall atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive. The restaurant's accessibility near the metro, its BYOB policy, and its multilingual staff make it a popular spot for groups looking for a genuine dining experience.

Small Chinese restaurant offering inostentatious but authentic cuisine. Easily accessible via Cote-Vertu metro station. Service was pretty quick & they are capable of speaking in French, English & Chinese. It is worth going in a group & they are happy to accomodate BYOB.

It's a small restaurant with limited amount of spot. The interior is quite cute but a bit old at the same time as well. The service was obviously new because they seemed quite lost & wasn't sure what they were doing. The food itself was decent. The flavours were good but there was just so much oil in both dishes we ordered. The fried pork also had quite a strong smell of vinegar that completely caught me off guard & made me the meal a bit less appetizing to me. For around 20$ a dish, the portions are quite acceptable.

Great authentic cooking. It's a humble restaurant. I was probably the only non-Chinese person there, usually a good sign. Kind service. I'll be back!

We've been eating at this restaurant for over ten years, & it has always been very good. It's a small family-style restaurant with simple but tasty dishes. However, ever since the ownership changed, the food has become saltier & spicier. Today we ordered the cherry pork-a dish we've been eating for more than ten years, & it's supposed to be sweet & sour. But today it was so spicy that even I, someone who's used to Sichuan food, found it unbearably hot! Why would cherry pork be this spicy? There's only one explanation: the chef didn't wash the pan. If they can't even clean a pan properly, it's hard to imagine the hygiene conditions in the kitchen.
