Something magical about the vibe as soon as you enter this cafe! From the lovely decor, to the free tasty juice to welcome us, to the attention to detail on our chai latte, decadent dishes, & delicious pistachio brioche (their usual brioche is cinnamon but they have monthly flavors too, & this was pistachio)
Service was absolutely fantastic (thanks to Florence!) cheerful & sweet just like the theme of this beautiful cafe!
Food was fresh & delicious! Will definitely come back for their hot chocolate (made with melted chocolate bits) & Scotch eggs!
We finally get to see what the hype is all about, & we'll be back to taste a few more items from the menu.
Everything looks really good on the menu, but we could not try them all obviously. The grilled cheese was excellent, & so was the Scotch egg (house favorite item on the menu). My'chic croissant' was good but a bit disappointing since I am not sure if it was home made or not…? I was expecting a much tastier croissant & warmer. It did not taste like it was fresh since we were the first to arrive with our 9 am reservation.
The service was almost outstanding from start to finish. The host offered us a hot drink since we got there a few minutes earlier than 9 am, & we got a table for 4 which was plenty of space for 2.
Where they missed out on the service level: the food sat on the pass for over 5 min. after the kitchen rang the bell!
Not because all the servers were busy they just did not pay attention, so the food temperature was not as warm as it should have been. They also got my order wrong, so they had to re fire…
Since the tables are very close, the noise level was getting higher as the dining room got filled.
What a wonderful experience! We didn't have reservations & it was a Monday at noon, & waited maybe 15 minutes for 2 seater. Cozy & stylish dark interior, attentive & caring service (huge thank you to Agata for everything), & delicious & hefty portions! Add a scotch egg to your order regardless if you think you have space, it's delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here & the much needed caloric intake after braving Ile Soniq the previous day in the scorching August heat.
Montreal's cozy-chic gem serving up bold flavours, buttery pastries, & artfully plated brunch classics.
From their famous French toast to perfectly poached eggs & vibrant lattes, every bite feels like a treat. It's the kind of spot worth the wait-every visit feels like a little celebration.
It was our first time here, & we absolutely loved the entire dining experience. The food was creative, flavourful, & perfectly portioned. The staff were friendly, efficient, & well-trained-I especially loved that they all wore name tags.
Calling for reservations is highly recommended!
What we ordered:
🍳 Gros Jambon - Two eggs, pulled ham, artisan-style bacon, baked beans, smashed potatoes, cretons, toast
🍌 Banana French Toast - Brioche French toast, banana butter, mascarpone cream, banana, caramelized pecans
☕ Drinks - Cappuccino + their carrot & ginger shot
Exceptional food & service. The pulled beef & poached eggs with the English muffin was phenomenal, so was the scone with the strawberry jam & mascarpone & the cinnamon roll!
It used to be my favourite brunch until now. The food was so deceiving. They cut the portions & put up the prices. I ordered the Benedict eggs & they were cooked hard (OMG worst mistake on a benny). The sauce was cold & greasy. We got also the waffle & the portion was so tiny. Most of it was just decor no real food. I miss the Regine before covid where the plates were actually great & the price was right.
Regine Café is such a gem for brunch in Montreal! I came in solo & was seated at the bar right away with a welcome berry juice - such a sweet touch.
I ordered the Berry French Toast & Eggs n Beef. The French toast had amazing mascarpone cream & berry compote, but the brioche was a bit thick for my taste. Still very enjoyable.
The standout was the Eggs n Beef - poached eggs, tender beef cheek, béarnaise sauce, smashed potatoes… everything came together perfectly.
Service was friendly, quick, & the ambiance felt warm & welcoming. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, flavour-forward brunch spot in Montreal.
Cozy brunch in a cute setup
They don't take reservations so you wait outside. Many times we skipped because of the line but this time not so bad & weather is warmer.
Tried their juice degustation for the kids they liked it.
Tried cappuccino oat milk was good.
Took Oeuf & Boeuf really good & their patates maison are delicious.
Kids loved the grilled cheese with pain Noix & Pistaches & the Gaufré which is waffles with Smoked salmon & eggs.
Took the' un peu de tout' à Nice mix of pastries & selection of breads with mixed sauces & dips. Loved the peanut crunch, jam & banana butter
Definitely recommend & worth the wait.
What a nice brunch place with great & speedy service! We waited outside in line (they said 1h but it only was 20min wait). The matcha latte was served with an additional pretty touch of edible flowers. The pain brioche doré with pulled pork snd egg was yummy! The order came out within 15min.
My wife adores this café, which boasts beautiful décor & vividly colorful, large Victorian-style armchairs. The waitstaff were friendly & formally dressed, wearing ties. The complimentary smoothie shot was refreshing. The'little bit of this & that' presented on a pastry tiered tray, offered a variety of garnishes that perfectly complemented the pastries. The Scotch eggs were outstanding. The Canadiano coffee was robust & aromatic. The only drawback was the 30-45 minute wait.
Great experience at Régine Café! The service is incredible, the staff is very welcoming & attentive. The dishes are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the'Champi' with the Scotch egg, a real delight! The cinnamon roll is also a marvel, perfect for ending the brunch on a sweet note.
A high quality food,
I ordered œuf & bœuf for my breakfast, the texture of the beef with the poached eggs dissolved in my mouth adding such an amazing feeling & experience
Leà our waiter was nice & made sure that we had we everything in place.
We visited this place with high expectations. Despite the long queue outside (as they don't take advance reservations), they served us complimentary hot tea while we waited in the freezing -5°C cold for an hour. Once seated, we were welcomed with a refreshing complimentary drink. For my 3-year-old, they thoughtfully provided coloring supplies along with a cookie, cream, & sweet sprinkles. The food portions were massive-difficult to finish-& their famous Scotch egg comes with a meat coating, so keep that in mind when ordering. It's a great spot for brunch, but considering the wait time & the portion sizes, it feels more like a once-in-a-while experience.
It's a beautiful brunch spot. The line was surprisingly fast, the wait pleasant unhurried & attentive. A little crowded inside but the seats are comfortable & they don't rush you. Food platters are massive. I got the waffles & smoked salmon & it was delicious the portions generous. Soft boiled egg done just right. Mushrooms with bearnaise sauce is served in a gravy boat there's so much of it. Cocktail list is classy & tea selection well chosen.
Tried egg & beef as their most popular plate but the bread & meat were tasting something special Maybe not my preference but overall it worth to try it once
I had brunch here with my friends, & it was an excellent experience! We waited a little while in line, but it was definitely worth it. Champi 4.5/5 Sautéed mushrooms, I substituted with a Scotch egg-pretty good. The bread was a bit hard. Oeuf & Boeuf 5/5 ❤️ My favorite! Eggs Benedict with ultra-tender braised beef cheeks on an English muffin. The sauce was delicious. Chic Croissant 4/5 The croissant was very crispy, with shredded chicken inside, which was very tender. Gâteau du Jour 3.5/5 The daily cake was carrot cake. My friends weren't too fond of the cinnamon flavor, but I found it no bad. The cream was a bit tangy, which I liked. Mokaccino 5/5 ❤️ How can this be so delicious? The roasted marshmallow brought a unique experience. Eating a bite of the marshmallow first & then sipping the coffee is a different experience compared to the marshmallow melted into the coffee. I even discovered chocolate added at the bottom of the cup! Such a rich flavors & surprising coffee! Hot Chocolate 3/5 In comparison, it lacked rich flavors & was mostly just sweet. Matcha Latte 3/5 The matcha flavor was strong. The portions of each dish were generous, & everything tasted great. The coffee was particularly surprising, & they even offered a complimentary aperitif. The restaurant is also very beautiful, making it an enjoyable experience overall. Highly recommended!
definitely one of the best brunch spots in montreal (honestly, maybe even better than toronto too)? the Champi (mushroom toast) with the scotch egg is the most popular dish, with good reason. highly recommend you try & experience this for yourselves. 10/10 the sucré salé is also quite good. 9.4/10
Wow, this place is fantastic! A friend from Montreal took us here, & the food was super tasty. Every dish was beautifully crafted, & we tried a bunch of different plates, all of which were delicious. The staff were really professional too. The spot is a bit small, & we ended up sitting near the washrooms, which wasn't ideal, but given the limited space, there wasn't much they could do. The washrooms are also quite tiny, so be prepared for that. But honestly, the food more than makes up for it. I had the beef & egg, which was perfect, & the avocado toast & mushroom plate were awesome too. Highly recommend!
Best breakfast experience in Montreal! The food was just amazing, the egg benedict enrobed in chorizo with a fried panko shell🤯 Everything thing just tasted delicious. The experience is worth every dollar. & the "Cake of the day", a carrot cake was just perfect, not those unfrozen piece of cake you get at many restaurant, & it's for 2. The ambiance, the service was top notch, was worth the wait (40 minutes), no reservation on weekends. For the breakfast aficionados, Régine Café is a must!
