You think I'm exaggerating? No. I'm not. My friends asked for the chicken burger. They gave him a beef burger. When we said that's not what he ordered, we asked a friend to translate, & we explicitly said POULET!!! The server came back with another beef burger..... Wth.... Clarified a third time this time pointing specifically to the menu. Finally got the right order. The rest of the mistakes were things like getting sauced wings when we asked for plain, many of us getting the wrong drinks, etc. The food itself was ok, & the atmosphere was ok, but this experience just made it a very bad dinner experience.
I ordered (quite late at 10.30 pm) a red wine & a beef Burger & was very welcome:

The place is nice, the service is good & very polite. The food is nothing extraordinary; we ordered fish & chips & a beef burger, the fish n chips was good, maybe a bit undercooked, the fries are really tasty, though. The beef burger is very mediocre. we tried ordering a poutine... no such a thing. The brownie with maple ice cream was good. Overpriced for the quality. I wouldn't come back unless it was someone's birthday or something that you must attend.
Wow! I heard about this new place from a friend who went there on opening day & he couldn't stop talking about how nice & different the Rebel is from the other restaurants in Montreal. When I arrived, it was an immediate wow! The decor is stunning. Modern yet with traces & feelings of an old brasserie.
We tasted a bit of everything. As entrées I had the seared scallop & it was cooked to prefection & my friend had the Bison carpaccio. Awsome.
I ordered the poached salmon & it was amazing while my friend had the ''Beef Cheek'' that night. Both dishes were excellent. We finished our dinner with a ''pineapple poutine'' & capuccinos & it was to die for. Surprisingly the total bill was much lower then I expected.I highly recommend the Rebel to anyone looking for something completltly different with a crust above th rest anywhere in Montreal.
