Visited them from Ottawa on a friend's recommendation & was very impressed. Loved their Zingratta burger & fried chicken pieces. The chicken pieces were super crispy & juicy, probably the best halal ones I have tried so far in Canada. The food was fresh as well. I will definitely eat here again on my next visit to Montreal!
Worth the hype! All time great fried chicken! Cozy cool spot, great service, food is fresh & delicious! Worth every cent. Repeat hell ya!
Best fried chicken I've had in a long time! Ranja's is 100% halal & the chicken isn't oily at all, which I love. Still super juicy & crunchy. The owner is really humble & down to earth, made the whole experience even better. Way better than Popeyes Louisiana in my opinion. Can't wait to bring my family & friends back here again & again!
The food here slaps real hard...KFC needs some courses from this place on how to make amazing fried chicken. Super crunchy & super moist chicken. Also had their version of a burrito...loads of cheese, beef, chicken, egg...sauce...This brick filled me up & tasted great every single bite. If you need to satisfy a craving for some decadent food, go there right away.
If you have the chance to try the fried chicken & the brurrito frito do it!!!!
Fried chicken was unusually oily (not like usual). Very long wait at the restaurant & some things look like they dont work. Overall best fried chicken in the west island but this time the quality wasn't there. I'll try them again but disappointed in my last experience.
Staff is super nice & friendly.
Guys, if you don't mind waiting for freshly fried chicken go there. & if you're complaining about the pricing, maybe just stay home. This is by far the best chicken tenders we've had, crispy, hot, & full of flavor.
Amazing food,Amazing service, high Quality fried chicken best Fried Chicken I have ever had hands down 11/10
Food is freshly made & delicious, ingredients taste very clean & prices are very fair highly recommend the best chicken in the city
Best fried chicken ever, yes there is wait to get the food but it's because he is making it FRESH for everyone. Ask for their seasonings on top of the fried chicken it's like cherry on top.
Absolutely amazing fried chicken 👌🏻. The sauces (chutney & habanero lime especially) were great. This isn't fast food. Expect to wait 25mins for a large order of chicken. Try this place out! It's about the food & not the atmosphere.
Halal & family friendly restaurant
Mainly serving fried chicken & burgers, but now also offer healthy bowl of salmon, chicken or vegetarian options. If you want to dine in, the wait time from ordering to serving is 20-30 minutes depending on the orders. So, call earlier if you plan to dine in.
Tbh it was really good but some facilities dont work like most of the soda machines so options are limited but the chicken & fries are so good
Great service & potential, but needs a few tweaks
We visited Ranjy's based on their impressive 4.8-star rating. While there is a lot to like, our experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
The Atmosphere & Service:
The owners are incredibly friendly & the restaurant is noticeably clean, which shows they truly care. However, the ventilation seems insufficient; the smell of fried food was very strong inside, suggesting the stove hood might need maintenance or an upgrade. Also, be prepared for a wait-we arrived at 4:30 PM & didn't receive our food until 5:15 PM.
The Food:
- The Chicken: The highlight of the meal. The batter was perfectly crispy. However, the meat itself was a bit dry; a brining process (similar to Popeyes) would go a long way in making it juicier.
- The Poutines: Very generous portions, but unfortunately, they were quite salty.
- The Fries: They appear to be standard Cavendish battered fries (similar to the frozen variety at Costco). While crunchy, they don't quite match the'hidden gem' vibe of the rest of the menu.
Verdict:
The food is currently average, but the potential is there to be excellent. If they can fix the ventilation, dial back the salt in favor of more herbs/spices, & perhaps switch to a more unique fry, this place would be a 5-star spot.
We literally tried everything at once & everything was absolutely amazing especially the fried chicken was the best one we ever tried across canada.
From now on this is my spot for fried chicken
