The food is alright, what I mean is that it is more or less on par with the rest of ramen restaurants out there but is grossly overpriced... Off the bat, their soup is roughly $5 (~20%) more than Kinton & other competitors out there & they gave you 2 slices of pork that's PAPER THIN. The broth is not particularly impactful/memorable either, is average. I tried Isshin a couple years ago in Ottawa & it was good & I gave it a 5 stars, but it wasn't $22/bowl with barely any ingredients in there, it was literally 2 thin slices, a bit of ground pork & some bean sprouts, not even a sheet of seaweed. For context, at the time of typing this, you can get a spicy ramen combo with gyoza & coke at Kinton for the same price. The "seafood" pancake is also disappointing, mushy & tiny, barely any seafood in there, very salty too. Overall, in terms of taste it is OK, in terms of value I won't be coming back.
Had high hopes for this new restaurant but was sadly disappointed. We did not receive part of our order & I asked for another sauce for my gyoza but it never came. Service wasn't very active & we were never asked how our food was. My dish with rice & fried chicken(maybe pork?) Was bland & dry. The Ramen may be good but I won't be back to try it.
Really decent shoyu ramen. I found the broth to be a bit less flavourful than I prefer, & the chashu pork was on the thin end of the spectrum. Noodles were on point. The egg's texture was good but it tasted a bit sweet for some reason. I'll probably return to try more of their menu.
Very satisfied with the overall dine-in experience we had at Ramen Isshin Verdun! We ordered the Pork Gyoza & Korokke. Both plates had the right amount of crunch, the flavor was good & the pork in the gyoza was juicy. As for ramen we ordered the Red Dragon & the Spicy Shio with White Sesame. The broths were packed with flavor & really rich. The ramen noodles were perfectly chewy & the amount was good for the quantity of broth. The Red Dragon is really for the spicy lovers, it hits the right spot for a good spicy craving! For the price (approx. 18-22$/bowl) the portions are generous! Service is fast & good. The people that work there are kind & they patiently answered our questions. We will definitely come back to taste more from the menu :)
Great broth, delicious pork. Lights are a little bright in the dining area
