Très bon accueil. Le choix des variétés de bagels est par ailleurs très limité & je les ai trouvés bien fades même avec du beurre salé...
This isn't bad done in joint & you are going for the bagels primarily although the Soleys food is pretty good in the refrigerator area. I come in a few times a year from New York to stock up in bagels which frankly I like more than ST. Viateur, Fairmont, Montreal West & others. No they aren't tiny & burnt if that's what you mean. Still small by New York standards but a little fluffy, lots of seeds & delicious. I offer the US customs officials every time I go over the border, but they decline. Their loss! Prices have gone up, they charged me a dollar a bag on my last order of $150 so that was a bit of a gauge. Cocktail sandwiches, flat ended egg rolls are yummy as are the lakes... So go, stock up & try the rugalach too.
Deliciously fresh bagels. Great to see bagels being prepared in the shop.
Like Lance said, KISS (keep it simple Stroll) method when it comes to a bagel fresh out of the oven. Cream cheese smear, lox optional. Bliss! Real Bagel is one stop shopping for us for the Jewish holidays. We love the creamy chopped liver with fried onions, the "Homemade" gefilte fish & matzoh ball chicken soup. Maybe a knish or two lol. A choice of pickles rounds out our dinner!
Pretty good bagel, offers fresh ones early in the morning! Good variety as well. Other than bagels, other pastries & bread might be baked somewhere else (still good tho)
Bagels too soft, not enough gluten. Not very flavorful. They got nothing on an average New York bagel.
My partner discovered this gem while we were at the oratory. I was too mesmerized watching them make their own doughnut dough, boil it, & prepare the doughnuts the Canadian way to take pictures. It's a must-visit & must-try if you're in Montreal. They have two little benches inside the bakery if you prefer to sit & eat instead of doing takeout.
