I just go for the bagels. People will say that only St-Viateur or Fairmount know how to make Montreal bagels but don't listen to them; these are a bit different (bigger & fluffier) but they're the real deal nonetheless.View more

This isn't bad done in joint & you are going for the bagels primarily although the Soleys food is pretty good in the refrigerator area. I come in a few times a year from New York to stock up in bagels which frankly I like more than ST. Viateur, Fairmont, Montreal West & others. No they aren't tiny & burnt if that's what you mean. Still small by New York standards but a little fluffy, lots of seeds & delicious. I offer the US customs officials every time I go over the border, but they decline. Their loss! Prices have gone up, they charged me a dollar a bag on my last order of $150 so that was a bit of a gauge. Cocktail sandwiches, flat ended egg rolls are yummy as are the lakes... So go, stock up & try the rugalach too.View more
