Very welcoming & nice, nothing to say on that. The butter chicken & their naan bread are out of this world, a must try!!
I just tried Punjab Canteen & it was really good! 100% recommend it! We ordered butter chicken with cumin rice, naan bread, & mango lassis. Everything was delicious. I only wish they offered a larger size for the mango lassi because it was so good I almost ordered another one!
Ordered 01 lamb curry, butter chicken & garlic naan in main course, taste was horrible,, butter chicken was too sweet, lamb curry was totally flat & food was served after really long wait, first appetiser came too late that too not the complete order & after that we again had to wait long time for the main course & taste was neither worth the wait or the money..
Delicious. SERVED HOT! Fresh. Great service👌 Clean restaurant.
Had the lamb, excellent & not too spicy. Butter chicken is one of the best i've had. Home made naan bread.
Dessert is small servings, it's the only thing i wish was served in a bigger quantity. Def recommend this restaurant.
truly exceeded my expectations. The food is absolutely outstanding fresh, flavorful, & perfectly seasoned. Every dish we tried was rich in authentic taste, from the tender meats to the perfectly baked naan. You can really tell that everything is prepared with care & high-quality ingredients.
The service was just as impressive. The staff is welcoming, attentive, & genuinely focused on making sure you have a great experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt well taken care of.
Great food & great prices!
We ordered Chaat Papri, Noodles Chicken, Shai Paneer, Chicken Curry & buttered Naan. The chairs were super comfortable!
I ordered food one daal tadka & two naan…….the daal was good but the naan I got were totally raw it looked like they did not cook properly……
⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐? 10/10 - A hidden gem that deserves serious recognition
I don't normally write reviews , but Punjab Canteen absolutely deserves one.
From the moment the food hit the table, I knew I was in for something special. The dish I ordered was packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, & clearly made with care. The sauce was rich, creamy, & full of depth, the naan was fresh, warm, & perfectly cooked, & every bite felt comforting yet elevated. You can genuinely taste the quality & passion behind the food.
Portions are generous, presentation is on point, & everything tastes fresh & authentic - not rushed, not generic. This is the kind of meal that makes you slow down & enjoy every bite.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere is welcoming & clean, & the service makes you feel like you actually matter as a customer. You can tell this place is run by someone who truly cares about their craft & their guests.
If you're anywhere near 2640 Bd Daniel-Johnson, Laval, do yourself a favor & come eat here. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, you will not be disappointed.
This restaurant deserves all the support it can get. I'll be back - many times.
Highly recommended.
You guys are changing level of Indian food in montreal & neighbourhood. I am so picky about India food & I have been mostly disappointed everywhere else. Som had promising starts but later disappointed.
But I tasted about 5-6 items from your menu in 2 different occasions & guys they were amazing. Please continue to deliver it as you are doing right now.
Wow, noodle burger, thali, black daal, paneer.
Everything is great, just a small advise. Please cut the naan when giving for takeout.
I love your food ❤?
Thanks for opening a location in Laval ❤?
Your staff at queen st-Mary was brilliant too ❤?
So many things to say but will save it for future.
Love you guys ❤?
Was not impressed.
This location recently opened & I decided to give it a try with my wife. After making our order we patiently waited 30 mins. Looking around at other tables we noticed that NO ONE had food besides a few kids. & I mean no one in the whole restaurant. I noticed two tables got up & left but decided to wait.
At 1 hour we finally got our samosas. They looked great & tasted good but were warm, slightly cold even. Another half hour later we got our tikka paneer. These were hot & tasted good.
After our appetizers a waiter came to tell us that they had no cooked rice & it would be another 30 mins. Okay we swapped for naan no problem. Rest of the food came 45 mins later anyway so there was no point in telling us this. Also the butter chicken came with 5 small chunks in the largest bowl. Basically just sauce. I took the sauce home to add some chicken the next day.
So an over 2hr visit for service. Why? I overheard one angry customer speaking to the owner & hearing that the gas or stoves weren't working!
I mean guys just tell everyone & they would more than likely be accommodating.
On a good note they didn't charge me correctly & even when I insisted it was wrong they kept insisting it was correct.
Atmosphere: 4star ,clean ,organise ,good presenttaion
Service: the crew were present
Food: we palce order chana bathuras, lemonade ,amratsri naan ,butter chicken,chatpapri.. spent over 175$$$
Chat papri: 2/10only papri non dip or sauce availble in the palte..
Chnaa bathura: 3/10the bathura was extreamly oily,& too thick, the channa was overly cooked, & extreamlly blended with cinamon spices..
Amratsri naan :0👎 oily, the potatoas were not well blend with spices, has no flavor..
Butter chicken: 4/10 the sauce was too sweet & liquidy...
Punjab Cantene is a great restaurant to add to your list! It is so refreshing to find an Indian restaurant that focuses on genuine, authentic flavors rather than typical Westernized versions.
Every dish we tried, from the curries to the garlic naan, was deeply nuanced & complex. You can taste the quality & the traditional cooking methods in the perfectly balanced, aromatic spices.
Another great aspect is the location, previously I'd always go to Parc-ex for Indian cravings, but finding parking around there has been an increasing over the last few years. Plenty of easy parking at Punjab Canteen in Laval!
