Pub Wolf & Workman impressed in all the ways a top-rated restaurant should. The food, drinks, service, location, ambiance, & value; all excellent!
We made reservations well in advance for a Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, we were greeted courteously & promptly seated in a dining room. There was a terrace at the back, which looked great & was full of people enjoying the good vibe.
The whole place was lively, with a vibrant buzz, but somehow it also felt warm, inviting & relaxed, as any place calling itself a pub should feel. The inside had an aesthetically pleasing mix of old-world, even luxurious charm, with a nice modern twist. Trendy, yes, but cozy, too.
Our server was very good. Prompt. Friendly. Bilingual. She listened & engaged & gave us bang-on recommendations. It was busy & she had several tables, but she was positive, attentive & readily available all evening. Great job!
The cocktails were on point. A Coconut Marmalade Horchata & a Wild Strawberry Margarita. I also had a nice pour of Murphy's Irish Stout. All were excellent.
We started with a delicious Howard Scotch Egg with maple syrup sausage, Branston chutney & arugula. Fantastic!
For our mains, we sampled from their famous'Pie Shoppe' & had the popular Chicken Pot Pie & Beef Stroganoff Pie. They were amazing. Eye-poppingly humongous & perfectly prepared. Which is better is a matter of personal preference (esp. re: chicken vs. beef), but in our opinion the Beef Stroganoff Pie was extra-delicious & peerless.
The Wolf & Workman left a great impression as a hospitable, somewhat upscale pub-style restaurant with a great offerings & a very nice blend of British/Quebecois vibe, right in the heart of Old Montreal.View more
We had such a great dinner. Have to lead with the food. I have been salivating for the Salmon Pave since leaving. Drinks were interesting & excellent. The atmosphere & service were right behind it. Seating is a little tight but plan to go back soon.View more
Had the best time, sat at the bar for drinks!! We had a awesome bartender, her vibe made our night!! Highly recommend.View more
Amazing Irish pub with great drinks & food, in the Old Montreal area, & in the terrasse.
I strongly recommend it.View more
WOW! Stumbled on this pub & what a wonderful surprise! Our server Zev was charming & thoughtful with great recommendations for food & drinks!! Everything was so delicious! 10/10 a must visit while in Montreal!View more
Great pub with a cozy ambiance, drinks were well made & food menu was quite unique
Service was great as well, but it was quite pricey. As long as you can stomach the cost ($20 for each of our drinks), it's worth a tripView more
I only had drinks, no food but loved, waitress was great , best drinks i had in Montréal.View more

Pleasant find. Really good food, at least the dish I ate, pork ossa bucco special. Gabby & Renato at the bar making beautiful & tasty drinks.
My best meal of the week...
I'll be back. 100%View more

We had the pleasure of eating & sipping cocktails at The Wolf & Workman Pub, & it truly felt like stepping into a classic London pub-only with a uniquely Montreal twist. Tucked away in the charming Old Town, this spot delivered on every front, from its outstanding food to its inviting ambiance & top-notch bar service.
What truly sets The Wolf & Workman apart is its exceptional blend of traditional pub fare & local Quebecois ingredients. The menu proudly features seasonal produce sourced from Quebec's independent farmers. We had the chance to try several dishes, including the Beef Tartare, Calamari, Scotch Egg, Salmon Gravlax, Gnocchi Bolognese, & Quebec Pork Schnitzel-each dish was delicious.
The drinks deserve a mention of their own. The mixologist behind the bar was a true artist, crafting cocktails that were as visually captivating as they were tasty. The cocktail menu incorporated local flavours, which added a twist to every classic drink.
A standout moment of our visit was meeting Sean Michael, one of the co-owners. He made us feel incredibly welcome & took the time to share the intriguing history behind the pub. Hearing about The Wolf & Workman's journey & its commitment to quality truly enhanced the experience. Sean's genuine passion for the pub is reflected in every detail, making the space feel even more special.
The atmosphere was cozy & intimate, with rich wood accents & warm lighting that evoke the spirit of a beloved British pub-but with a distinctly Montreal touch. It was the perfect place for a casual laid-back yet sophisticated evening.
The Wolf & Workman Pub is a must-visit for anyone in search of outstanding food, exceptional cocktails, & a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a spot you'll want to return to. A perfect blend of London charm & Quebec pride-what's not to love?View more
The schnitzel was amazing. Great place to enjoy a drink & eatView more
The pub is near our hotel & we have stopped in a couple of times for either a drink or a bite or both. Each stop has been great - the staff are really friendly & helpful, the food is very good & the overall vibe is really fun!View more
We went in for their famous pot pie & drinks. The pie was delicious, the cocktails were on par too.View more
Went for drinks in the old port, they are good mixologist! I will be back.View more
Everything about this place is a vibe. The music is on point The burger was probably one of the best I've had in montreal The staff were super kind The drinks are just ridiculous good. Just go & have a good timeView more
Cauliflower salad was great; lamb korma pie was under-spiced, & pork croquettes were mushy & uninteresting inside. The presentation, sauces & salads are excellent. Service was cheerful & polite, but could have been more proactive about navigating the minefield that is the cocktail menu (i.e, point out clearly that a drink has a weird ingredient like chocolate or banana liqueur!). Tonic was flat.View more
Love the beautiful classic interior. Great staff, lovely pub. We did not eat anything as we went there for couple of drinks, but the food served at other tables looked appetizing. So we'll order food as well, next time.View more
Stopped in late Saturday afternoon for a drink & a little bite because we were feeling peckish. The host was super friendly & welcoming. Our server had a great smile & her service was good. We ordered 1 cider & 1 blood orange ginger sour. It cocktail was a bit on the small side but super delicious with just the right amount of g of sweetness. We ordered the salmon tartare & an order of fries. The salmon tartare came with four crisps. It was good, light & refreshing that paired nicely with the side order of fries.View more
The food was great. Unfortunately the service was quite poor. Had to ask for simple things like drink refills & the check multiple times. Neat place, but once was enough for me.View more
It's a great spot in the Old-Port. I really liked the atmosphere in their backdoor terrasse & their prices are good for the Old-Port . I had the opportunity to go for the Happy Hour which you can grab a drink at a good price. The W&W Burger was juicy & tender served with crunchy tasty fries. The caramelized onions bring an interesting taste to the burger. The fisherman's pie is also great, tasty & probably one of the best I ever tried. You really feel the taste of the mussels & clams & everything is well balanced. Both plates were well presented & good. As regards the decoration it really feels like a typical pub that you can find in the UK. An excellent pub in the old port where I enjoyed my experience & where I'll probably go back.View more
Food is good, but nothing crazy. For some reason our waiter "changed" 3 times , they(the waiters) were all quite nice , but its a bit confusing. All dishes are beautifully plated, but some would benefit from(better) sides, for example the fish is said to come with a puree, but the puree is such that it blends with the sauce. When I read puree I expect a minimum of consistency. Also despite it not being indicated I could taste something akin to dill, or anise in the fish's sauce. The burger's fries are quite great, The caprese too. I was disappointed in the pasta, they were overly salty, I never did that ever, but I requested them to redo it, & from my understanding it was impossible to do, since the pasta's sauce is done in "batch/great quantity" (not that it isnt fresh), I ended up changing my dish to chicken, but I genuinely did not want to eat an indian dish that day. Also we came at around 5 , & were a group of 3 but, it took a while for our dish to come , some people came after us, & had the time to receive their drinks & dishes before us. Overall everyone was quite nice, but I cannot say it was my best experience. Small tidbit, our first waiter spoke english & french, but seemed to struggle a bit(with french), but I applaud their choice to come back to make sure of our order instead of taking it wrong. Strongest point of this place, is the ambiance, the decor, & the art, & sort of terrace behind, which is isolated from the busy streets.View more
Service & atmosphere were fine. The food was very underwhelming. Drinks were quite pricey, but for the area I guess that makes sense. The inside is very busy & hot, but the outdoors has nicer seating.View more
Great ambiance & location in Old Montreal. Food was average & on par for pub food. Service was below average. We ordered two drinks & two mains & were sat for hours. It was very hard to get the attention of the staff & the food took over an hour to prepare.View more
This is a must in the old Montreal area. The drinks are great & the food is always good. Whether you're going for a quick bite, a drink, a dessert or whatever you're in the mood for, this place never disappoints.View more
I'm never disappointed. It's a great place to have a drink or just a nice meal.View more
The chicken pot pie is the best I've ever tried. It was suggested by the man seating next to us & he said it was his favorite chicken pot pie & that he went to this place every week to have it. He was right, it was amazing, & the price was fair considering the amount of food. We also had drinks (Lysa is a must try) & the smoked sturgeon as an appetizer, which was really good as well. It gets pretty crowded, but it was easy to get a table for two (Thursday dinner) & the service was so lovely they even managed to get us a table in the backyard, which is adorable!View more
Really cool place for evening drinks & a bite to eat with good music. On the night we did have a significant wait on the food which we were not informed about but it was fine. The potted chicken, fish pie were good but the fries which accompanied the house burger were burnt which was a shame as they were nicely seasoned. Price wise probably a bit pricey for what is obviously pub food but the venue dictates that to some extent.View more
