The first thing that matters to me in any store is not only the quality of the products, but especially how the staff treat customers.
Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at this bakery. A saleswoman behaved in a very rude & impolite way toward us simply because my mother was recording a short video. Her attitude was disrespectful & unprofessional, & it made us feel very uncomfortable.
Even if the bread & other products may be fresh or of good quality, customer service is far more important to me. Respect & proper treatment should always come first.
Because of this experience, I will not return to this store, even though it is very close to my home. I would rather go to another branch where customers are treated with courtesy & respect.
I have to say, they make the best sourdough bread ever & they have a nice variety of bread & products that I appreciate. However, I rated it 3 stars because of the poor customer service I've experienced & witnessed when I went to pick up the bread. The three times I was there, the staff looked frustrated & basically unhappy. One lady was visibly frustrated with a customer, shaking her head, after she pointed to where to find an item. Same lady responded very dry when I asked for the sourdough & she just said « there's none left » & looked angry, didn't offer any options (shouldn't they be trying to sell what's left?) yes it was a busy time, there was a line up but clearly, there seems to be a lack of leadership & general frustration coming from the staff that should be addressed.
Great pastry & bread shop. Exrensive choice including sandwiches, chocolates, cookies, jams, honey, & other. Nice sitting area, can be packed for lunch. No dedicated parking. You have to park in the street & it is a busy neighborhood
Great time visiting after 7 years. Beautiful selection of breads, pastries & croissants. Not sure why the person was checking her tip in front of me...
This franchise bakery in Montreal offers a nice variety of breads, scones, & pastries, along with coffee. You can also dine in at this location, which makes it a convenient spot for a quick bite or a casual break. Overall, a good bakery right on Monkland's main street.
Première Moisson has a beautiful selection of artisanal breads, & I will say the quality of the baked goods is quite good. However, the overall experience leaves much to be desired.
The coffee is underwhelming-bland & not worth the price. While the bread is fresh & well-made, the pricing across the board feels high for what you actually get. There isn't much value when you consider portion sizes & quality relative to the cost.
It's also consistently busy & disorganized. The ordering system feels chaotic, with long lines, unclear direction, & a lack of flow that makes the experience stressful rather than enjoyable.
Overall, it has potential, but for now, it feels more like style over substance.
Avoid any coffee here 👎!
Breads are so-so. I sometimes go to this branch to get 🍞. Not good, & not bad!
But the ☕? coffee! NEVER GO FOR THAT. me & my wife got a coffee glace & a Late glace! It was literaly a brown water! The worst coffee I ever had in my life! Costed us 5 CAD each! Not recommend 👎👎👎.
I complained about that & their supervisor told me it is because the new trainee made the coffee. However, I believe they really need to change their practice because I saw him supervised the new trainee when he was making the coffee...
I always go here. Very good food & variety , good bread , & cookies , etc
Great place to have a bite. Good salad & sandwich choices. Their bread is terrific & they also sell pies that look hard to pass up.
Really good bread, but like everything else, smaller loaves, with higher prices
I go there for the bread. For the last 4 years they have a broken slicer. Only one in store. Every now & then they would'fix it' (probably with a chewing gum) for a couple of days, & it breaks again. Considering Metro Inc. profits, it's a shame. If you charge 5.10 $ for a small loaf of bread, at least slice it properly.
I love this place for all the French pastries, croissants & breads!!! My second go to place in Montréal...
Friendly service despite a long line-up with some surly customers. The pastires, coffee & bread are always top notch.
