Poutine Centrale comes through as a lively, welcoming spot with a wide range of poutines, where crispy fries, rich gravy and fresh cheese curds meet generous portions and good value. The vibe is friendly and local, the staff are praised for being attentive and the service often described as warm even when busy. Reviews highlight the quality and variety of toppings, the freshness of ingredients and the satisfying comfort of each bite. While peak times can bring longer waits, the overall sentiment is that this spot is a standout for poutine lovers looking for bold flavors and a fun, casual atmosphere.
Went back again for a second time &, even if all the ingredients are there, fries cheese, presentation, quantities among other, something is missing. I was expecting the sauce & the overall dish to be more tasty & nope.
This was my first time having poutine & it was great! The people are super friendly & helpful, the prices were very reasonable plus it has a super cozy atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a quick bite to eat if you're ever in the area.

We came here on Friday December 20th in the early evening & ordered to go. The place was empty - we initially wanted to order online but noticed the menu was different, less selection, so came in person. We tried one of their smashburgers & a poutine which featured cheese curds, as well as cheddar cheese, green onions & sour cream. The food was delicious but my only complaint is the very small portion size & high price. The burger by itself is over $10 & is super thin - I understand the concept of smash burgers but was surprised it did not come with fries or a drink for that price. The poutine I chose was a "regular" size but felt like a small. The food is also packaged in these cardboard take out boxes which are not lined or waxed so unfortunately most of the sauce absorbs through the paper. There are lots of different container options such as alimunium or waxed cardboard that can be used which would be a more ideal choice especially for poutine. This is just bad planning.
If you are in the area & are craving a montreal classic (poutine), this is a good place to start. The selection is amazing. The service was fine . The restaurant is well decorated & clean. It's a semi open concept, meaning you can see the cook preparing your food. Which is a good bonus for me. Now for the negative. We did need to wait a little for our food, granted that 8 people went in ahead of us, & we all ordered at the same time. So, I'm not knocking it for that. For some reason, the guy at the front was doubling as a cashier & cook at the same time & worked alone for a while. (We went in close to lunch time. There is no reason for only one employee to be there). Another issue that we experienced was overcooked fries. This issue will usually make a break a poutine, but since the rest of the poutine was well topped & the gravy was food it ended up being passable. I am willing to try this restaurant again to see if the overcooked fries were a result of being flooded with customers.

Loved this place. Plenty of Poutine variations, fries were still crispy, curds tasty, combinations galore- all that you'll love about trying poutine for the first time. Much more on the menu that I didn't have the space to try but definitely a staple of Montreal

Actually a really rustic looking corner restaurant with wood & steel interiors. It's giving industrial vibes. Anyway, fairly empty of a Tuesday afternoon. A bit if a walk after having visited the BioDome earlier but there are only so many options nearby. We took a chance on Poutine Centrale & were not disappointed. There are some tables in the front & then the ordering counter. Plenty of seating in the back as well. Heard good things about the Jacqueline so we got a small to share with 2 sodas. It was the perfect snack. Loved loved loved the fried cheese. Went well with the sour cream & gravy & bacon. The day was beautiful so they also opened up the windows.
I had poutine with smoked meat & I really enjoyed it! Crispy fries, tasty sauce, a few slices of pickle - everything made for a perfect Montreal poutine. Will definitely go back.

Many options to choose from but of course I had to get the classic. I wasn't impressed, I thought the sauce was bland & the fries were overcooked/mushy. Better than anything you can get out of province, but that's a low bar. The portion was big, but it was also just over 20$ after tax, which I find is way too much for a poutine, let alone a mediocre one.
I am currently writing this review as I sit in the restaurant. It is so good I just couldn't wait. The food is fantastic here! Super friendly staff as well. We found this place by chance & we're so happy we did. Portion size is also very big. Highly recommend. If I could give more stars I would!
highly recommend, limited vegan options but the burger I could have was fantastic & my frienda both really enjoyed their poutines. Super friendly staff as well.
