I recently dined at Portovino Decarie with a friend. The food was delicious & nicely presented. We both had pasta, soup & salad. The puttanesca that I ordered was the best I've ever had, & the minestrone soup was yummy.
The service was impeccable, & the byob aspect made it a perfect dinner. Highly recommend restaurant for creative food & value!Voir plus

Generous food portions, I find it extremely cosy , nice atmosphere, food comes piping hot & the pasta is Al-dente EVERYTIME & to top it off, the excellent service by Rosie , an outstanding waitress, she is extremely knowledgeable about the menu , makes you feel at home as it is a BYOB restaurant, she goes above & beyond ! Went alone for supper. Had a Ceasar salad, terrible. Dressing & croutons from some blah wholesale market. I suggest the owners try Table 51 Ceasar salad to understand how the salad should taste & include...real bacon, homemade Dressing, homemade croutons & shavings of real parmesan cheese!! Delicious!!
In the beginning after I was seated the service seemed good, as it was 6:30pm on a Thursday night. Only 3 to 4 tables including me. The ONLY waitress opened my wine... BYOW & poured me a glass. I asked her for a glass of still water...it never came. I asked the only busboy for it, which came promptly. He removed the salad that I hardly ate.
About another 10 minutes later my pasta arrived. The bussboy once again provided excellent service with pepper & parmesan cheese.
During my whole meal for a good 20 to 20 minutes plus I am sitting next to a table with what I hear & see are people chatting / complaining about thier day, life, etc...& it is so close to the kitchen that all you hear are pots & dishes banging getting washed...I assume.
I finished my meal & waited...tick tock...no service. The busboy finally comes & gave me my take out of leftovers....still no waitress & no other person providing any service or help to the waitress. She was the only waitress, with a busboy & no other person provided any help.
I waited, & waited for my bill or even a request for a coffee. I finally just stood up & put my coat on & told the waitress I am leaving.
She gave me my bill, & I did give her a decent tip...$10 cash
I asked her to confirm that the table next to me were people that'WORKED' there, & she replied'YES'.
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO SIT ON YOUR DERRIERES & DO NOTHING TO SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUES!!

I recently visited portovino's & I must say, the service was exceptional. Our server, Rosie, was attentive, friendly, & just an overall amazing server. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome & ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal.It's rare to find such thoughtful & personalized service, & it truly made the dining experience memorable. Nous sommes allés au Brunch ce matin. La nourriture qui devait être chaude était froide (Oeuf, saucisse, bacon, etc). Les options froides (fromages, viandes froides, huitres, etc.) étaient sèches, comme si ça faisait longtemps que ça trainait. Par contre les gaufres, crèpe & omelette fraiches sont excellentes. Il y a aussi plusieurs options desserts qui sont ok. Le service était rapide & gentil. Au final, ça reste toutefois cher pour ce que c'est, dommage.Voir plus

We had a dinner for four, 6:00 sitting. We knew that the time period was for 2 hours & 8:00 we would be asked to leave but at 7:30-8:00 half the restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening. The waitress came 3 times to tells us we had to leave. When we left there was no one waiting for our table. Eventhough we were happy with the atmosphere & the food, we will not be returning because that was very disappointing for all of us. It's a different reason if there was no table available & people waiting. I understand now why this restaurant is not doing well.Voir plus

The food was so good. & the waiter was patient & professional. Ambiance was warm. I loved it. Went for my birthday & when they found out they surprised me with a free dessert with a candle & happy birthday written in coulis on the plate.

I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Portovino's last Sunday for brunch. The food is fresh & flavorful. They're so many options hence you are definitely going to find something for everyone. My personal faves were the flambé station, the chocolate fountain, the shrimp & the mango pineapple smoothie. We were served by a wonderful waiter Vince. He was very attentive, kind & was always there to make sure that we were doing great. He even helped us take a group picture to capture this special moment. A special shoutout to Frank, who explained the setup as this was our first time & we were a group of 9. He was very helpful & made sure that everything was running smoothly. Everyone was so kind. I'll definitely be telling my friends & family about this location & I cannot wait to come back again. Such a wonderful team! We celebrated a 60th surprise party & from the initial phone call up until we left, the day of the event the staff was amazing! So easy to work with, so kind & willing to help- very much appreciated! The servers were amazing, the hostess, Amy & her sister (I think) were amazing! Thank you again for everything, food was delicious & fast. They let us stay later than we originally planned with no issues. 15/10 reccomend to anyone looking to plan a group event, is the place!!Voir plus

On Saturday night, we celebrated two milestone birthdays for two individuals with 13 guests at Portovino. The food was good, & our server, Rosie, was friendly & attentive. However, the service was too rushed. It seemed we were being pushed to finish our meals quickly, even though no other guests were waiting for our table. We had little to no rest time between courses, & the cake was brought out shortly after our main meal. I appreciate the manager accommodating my request to change the reservation time so we could celebrate longer. While I understand that cleaning & preparing for the next day's service is essential, it should not come at the expense of our dining experience. If the restaurant closes at 10 PM, we should have the right to remain until closing time. The cleaning & setup for the next day's service should not hinder our experience as paying customers.
