I was honestly very confused by my experience today. This is the first restaurant I've been to in Montreal that didn't have a menu, so as a first-time customer, I had no idea how the ordering process worked or what the prices were.

The person who served me the shrimp & octopus didn't speak French, & I also had some difficulty understanding his English. After giving me the food, he asked me something about potatoes, rice, & salad. Since no one explained otherwise, I assumed these sides were included with the meal, so I agreed.

At no point did anyone tell me that these items were charged separately or explain their prices. In the end, the solution they offered was to charge us for a small portion of the potatoes, rice, & salad instead of the large portion. However, we never asked for a large portion in the first place.

For a restaurant without a menu, I think the staff should clearly explain what is included, what costs extra, & the prices before serving the food, especially to first-time customers. The whole experience was unnecessarily confusing & frustrating.

A casual poissonnerie where the seafood & fish are freshly cooked & perfectly seasoned right after you choose them from the counter.
Fish could be baked or fried in a light way. The steamed vegetables & Caesar salad are also exquisite!
Abdulrahman explained everything & all the staff is eager to offer a perfect experience.

Fantastic seafood restaurant in an unpretentious environment. Pricing is very fair - imagine what you would pay for your fish at a high quality poissonnerie then add a bit on for preparation & sides. Somewhat limited for sides but hopefully you are going there for their seafood & not for an exotic salad. The food was prepared & brought to the table incredibly fast & all the food was cooked to perfection! Highly recommended if you are craving very fresh fish & seafood.

So happy Rayan opened downtown & they did not disappoint. Seafood was delicious, perfectly cooked . Salad, rice & soup were super tasty. Loved the service & the vibe was beautiful with some Egyptian music in the background. Definitely recommend. I will come back. Thank You

Loved the fish in oven, yummy. Lobster was perfectly cooked. Salad delicious 😋 great service 😀

Fresh seafood that's seasoned to perfection. The Octopus salad kept me coming back everyday. The grilled whole fish was worth the meticulous labor not to choke on the small bones. All the dishes had freshly marinated onions & generously sprinkled with fresh dill & other seasoning. The hot crusty bread is also to look forward to
