What I like about this place is the homey vibes to it. The West Island has too many big chains or big restaurants but this one's different. The French toast was different: more like a fluffy Japanese pancake but amaze.
One of the dishes was undercooked, which is unacceptable. We informed the staff, & although they replaced it, there was no apology from management. Food safety should be a priority.
IF YOU HAVE KIDS - SKIP THIS PLACE. NO HIGH CHAIRS NO CHANGING TABLES.
I have always loved this place, food is incredible but if you have kids I would skip it. From the sign that says no strollers (which I can understand because the place is small) but then when I came in with my 3 year old & 8 month old not even thinking twice that of course they would have a high chair.. NOPE not one all they have is ONE'booster' that has zero attachments. Luckily I had my own booster in the car. It's surprising to me that a family run restaurant or restaurant in general wouldn't try even a little to accommodate families. Might as well put a sign outside that says no kids allowed. We had originally sat in a booth with the loose booster my baby almost fell under the table then I said ok I'll just hold her but the booths are so tight she was squished. I realized I had my booster in my car so I asked if we could switch to another table in the back with chairs.. the man at the front was seemingly annoyed (maybe I was just being sensitive because I was so extremely flustered but now after reading all the other reviews about kids & having a negative experience I must have been picking up on something) I then began transferring all my stuff to the other table (alone with two kids it took a few trips) no one offered to help me.. my baby with one sock (the other had fallen under the table I gave up on trying to get it) & my toddler almost in tears (I wasn't far behind) I don't know if I'll go back certainly not with my kids. You are in the hospitality business.. from what I read the owner says it's not a play ground which I agree. We were not bothering anyone I made sure my daughter didn't climb on the booths didn't touch the mirror & cleaned up after myself as best I could when I was done. I don't know there needs to be a middle ground somewhere or just make your establishment adults only ? Or at least make it visible online that you don't accommodate young children? Just an idea!
Absolutely delightful & memorable brunch experience at Pointe Claire Deli! The joint is cozy, well lit & simply a feel-good spot. We got the raspberry tiramisu mascarpone pancake, the fried chicken & hot cakes plate ( comes with green onion cheesy pancakes & some delicious spicy maple sauce ), a side of bacon & the mother clucker brioche bun sandwich. Both coffee-cocktails were delicious. Everything was so good & flavourful ! Portions were super generous & every dish had a lovely presentation. Our server, Sara, was kind & friendly, a big ray of sunshine ! She's killing it :) Cannot wait to come back & try more of their super extensive menu.
Super local restaurant!!! Best sweet patato fries ever, nice & crispy.
Jalapeno popper burger was excellent as well.
The food went in so fast we forgot to take pictures but next time will do for sure.
Service was also excellent.
It was trivia night & it gave it a great atmosphere.
So we went went back today & still 5 stars.
Philly Steak was perfect!
The proof is the empty plate…
I'm disappointed to leave this review as the Pointe-Claire Deli is one of the only places in Valois to go for a sit down meal. However, as a new mom, the no stroller rule is rough. I understand that it's a tight fit, but it makes it hard to go there with a baby, & I think the owners intended for that. It's also not breastfeeding friendly as the booths are too small. The table is too close to the body. Therefore, it's also not accessible to people in bigger bodies. Finally, there is no change table option in either of the bathrooms. I do like the food very much & the relaxed vibe. The servers have always been attentive. But I just feel it's not mom/ family friendly.
I've been here a few times now & it seems that this restaurants continuous problem is their staffing issues. It took us a long time to even be acknowledged after we were seated, then it took longer than usual to receive our meal. There was no check in while we were eating. There were other patrons being told it was going to be a 20-25 minute wait for a table even though there was no line & open booths.
