Pizzeria Zac operates as a dedicated hub for high-quality pizza production, prioritizing a menu that emphasizes plant-based culinary techniques. The kitchen focuses on artisanal dough preparation, utilizing fermentation processes to achieve a distinctively airy and crisp crust. A variety of locally sourced vegetables and specialized vegan cheeses define the topping selection, ensuring that each slice aligns with strictly animal-free standards. The dining environment maintains a casual atmosphere designed for efficient service and functional comfort. Patrons encounter a clear commitment to sustainable ingredient sourcing and consistent product quality throughout the entire menu. This establishment functions as a primary destination for individuals seeking specialized pizza options that strictly adhere to plant-based requirements without compromising traditional flavor profiles or structural integrity.
Pizzeria Zac is widely celebrated as a top destination in Montreal for exceptional vegan pizza, consistently praised for its thin, crispy crusts and innovative, high-quality toppings. Many diners find the experience so flavorful and satisfying that it rivals or exceeds non-vegan options, with frequent mentions of the delicious calzones, garlic knots, and creamy tiramisu. While the atmosphere is frequently described as cozy and the service as friendly and welcoming, some visitors note that the seating area is quite intimate and can feel cramped during busy periods. Despite occasional feedback regarding portion sizes or wait times, the vast majority of guests consider it a must-visit local gem that leaves both vegans and non-vegans highly impressed.
Their Margherita sauce is delicious (Casanova) would've loved to taste more vegan cheese on their Aphrodite. Mac & cheese has a big portion but the lemon taste masks the rest of the ingredients. I don't want to decrease their overall rating, maybe vegan restaurants in Montreal need a small makeover to grab the attention of fast food lovers
Étant une personne allergique aux produits laitiers, cette pizzeria est l'une des meilleures que j'ai connu à present, leur pizza est excellente, je retourne à coup sûr 💯 merci pour la qualité & je vous le recommande vivement
This is the perfect, quaint little pizzeria, I'm not a vegan yet... this pizza might turn me, it is unbelievably amazing, I've had the Zac's Pepperoni, El Diablo, & Aphrodite, all of them we're beautiful. I cook a lot & I was extremely intrigued by they're different vegan alternatives & all the ways they by pass regular animal based products with creative sauces & amazing finesse & application. Worth the price if not for the cruelty free pizza, then for the taste alone. 1billion Sapphos/10
After being denied every vegan restaurant up & down Saint Denis (no reservations), we decided to go a little off the beaten path & try this cute little hole-in-the-wall pizzaria. & we're so glad we did! Both of our pizzas were piping hot from the oven, flavorful, & topped with fresh ingredients that complemented their thin-crust base. The menu is categorized by red sauce, pesto, & white sauce. You can go pure veggie with the Casanova - red sauce, veggies,'cheese', topped with fresh arugula (roquette), or do their version of a veggie'meat lovers', or order the spicy'Diablo' pizza ...if you dare. :-D. The menu is extensive enough to please most palates, without being overwhelming. The seating is basically two picnic tables, but it was very spacious for my partner & me & two other separate diners. They seem to mostly do take out orders, so the demand for sit down space isn't so intense. They have a fun mural on one of the walls featuring Lisa Simpson - also the name of one of their pizzas. When we were there, a lively selection of classic blues music was playing. The service was very friendly & helpful. They do not have a liquor license, but they do have a decent selection of soft drinks, but more options might be nice. Anyway, show this place some love & either order a small, personal-sized pizza or a large size pizza for two. Support the cruelty-free, plant-based movement, & support a small business.
The best vegan pizza in Montreal! Stopped in after a long walk & the lunch rush, it was the perfect cozy place.
Ate a slice of the pepperoni pizza while waiting for my order & it was divine. The slice was large, the crust thing & amount of melted cheese was perfect.
Then my order arrived a few minutes later & the smell was enough to take me back to an Italian villa. Le Mile End is the perfect balance of red sauce, pesto, cheese, rosted garlic & pine nuts lightly covered with spinach. For fun I added mushrooms & my brain felt like it was exploding with all the rich flavors.
My husband had an Old School Calzone & said he would have another if there was space in the tummy left.
