Best pizza around! The slices are generous & the sourdough crust is incredibly satisfying. As someone who really cares about ingredient quality, I love that I can enjoy a slice without it upsetting my stomach. Love the homemade sauces & great wine selection, too. 10/10!
Top contender for the best slice in montreal. Not surprising coming from this group. The dough is light & crispy, but has a nice soft chew that seems to be sometimes forgotten in the pursuit of a NY style slice. The toppings used are clearly of the highest quality & prepared with professional execution. The sauces & dips have the same amount of care attention put into them as the slice itself.
We had the danny (spinach), pepperoni, calabrese & the plain margarita. Every one of them unique in their flavour profile, & very delicious. The danny was creamy & so well balanced. The pepperoni tasted like none other in mtl… clearly they don't use standard Roma pepperoni. The Calabrese definitely had artisanal salami, you can tell by the distribution of fat pockets within the meat (generic brands tend to mix the meat a lot more). & finally the marg was perfectly simple… able to taste & identify every single ingredient.
Kale Cesar was a 10, cookie was an 11 & dipping sauces gave the slices that extra pop to bring it all together. Finally, the Ice cream brought everything together at the end & made me feel like a kid again.
Those who claim this place is'too expensive' most probably don't understand the cost of executing at this level.
This is by far the best elevated New York-style slice in Montreal. The crust is perfect, the char is spot-on, the ingredients are top-notch, & the overall flavor is incredible. It's the closest thing we have to places like L'Industrie in Brooklyn, Cello's in the East Village, or Grandma's One Pizza on Bleecker Street.
The vibe is exactly right, the staff is friendly, & every slice tastes amazing. The guy who seemed to be the chef or owner even came over to chat with me for a couple of minutes & offered me a sample of ice cream because he could see how interested & enthusiastic I was about the place. That kind of genuine hospitality just adds to the whole experience.
People saying the slices are too small or too expensive don't really get the style-this isn't a classic Joe's slice in NYC, nor is it one of those big cheap'dollar slices' (which aren't even a dollar anymore & don't compare at all in taste or quality). It's an elevated slice, & for that category, the price is right. Trust me, I've been to many of these spots, & when you factor in the currency difference, the pricing lines up perfectly with similar places mentioned above & is cheaper than l'industrie.
I've seen comments about a $40 pie, but honestly, that's the going rate at big chain restaurants for the same size-except here, you're getting a way better product & experience here. Special shout-out to the mushroom pie: usually mushroom slices are either bland, too dry, or too soggy, but this one was absolutely perfect.
I fully recommend this place, & I'm planning to come here pretty much every time I'm in Montreal. If you're craving real New York-style pizza, this is the spot. If Dave Portnoy ever rated it, it would probably land in the high 8s-which, if you know his scale, is pretty amazing.
Really good tasing variety of pizza slices. Only thing I would improve would be the price to size ratio, it's expensive for what is given. That said quality is great & staff are very friendly, good vibes
EDIT:
Asked for a mushroom pizza & staff saw that the slice was small so they gave me an extra slice!
Fantastic slices! Definitely my favourite place for a slice in MTL now 🍕
I didn't find the slices small at all (I'm actually shocked by other reviews) They're good portion & considering the quality, I think they're well priced.
If you appreciate a properly fermented dough that tastes great, is airy & has a thin crust, with quality ingredients, this is the place. I tried three different ones & they were all flawless (2pm Saturday).
Think of it as if Badiali's (Toronto) & Roberta's (Brooklyn) had a baby 😁
