A bit pricy, & pricing isn't as clear as it should be. Pizza by the slice is sold in traditional points/ triangles, as well as rectangles, & small individual pizzas. Perhaps put prices on display case in front of each format? Place has been clean each time I have been there. It appears that Pizza Mia does a lot with the small space they have. There is a lot of selection. Nice to have a number of vegetarian choices available. As others have noted in their comments, there are issues from the start of the line when a person orders & the slice is taken from the display case, to the end of the line when a person pays & is given the slice. Multiple times when I go to pay, I tell them what I ordered & they go prepare another slice (which is a different pizza than I ordered) rather than bringing me what I ordered. It seems just giving customers a number to give to the cashier, & keeping the number with the slice(s) ordered; or some other basic protocol would be a very easy fix. This takes a lot of time when correcting the order & often correcting the bill too. As well as creating needless aggravation & congestion in a small space. It seems it would not take much for Pizza Mia to notably improve operations & overall customer experience.
One of the busier establishments of Atwater Market, especially in Summer & for good reason. Pizza Mia offers as close as you can get to an authentic Italian Pizzeria experience in Montreal. From the genuine Foccacia baked pizzas to the tasty arancinis - I felt like I was back in Rome. Service was great as well.
It has a great variety of dishes, they are very friendly, they take orders quickly, they also speak Spanish, there is space to eat & the food is very sufficient.
Excellent choice of pizza. The smell of the dough being baked is amazing. This pizza must be shared with friends. The ambiance is the mar je Atwater ambiance where is this a lot happening. You see people going back & forth to shop & it is a very positive vibe. Nice for a Sunday bite
Lots of hype behind the food here, lost in the hype is the horrid service.
While waiting in line I saw half a pepperoni pizza sitting in the display case, looked really good, & I was going to ask for one slice
Just as I was about to order, the girl took the pizza right out of the window, & when I was asked what kind of pizza I wanted I asked for a slice of the pepperoni.
I was told no & that there is no pepperoni left, I just sought there. I said she just took it out of the window. The girl replied no you can’t have it there’s none left I ask why? She said no you can’t have any I ask is there a reason why? She said no there’s none left.
So I feel like an absolute idiot. All that was left was a vegetarian slice, so I ordered that.
When I got to the front the girl goes what did you order? I said a vegetarian slice. She didn’t have to place an order for another vegetarian slice to get placed in the oven & I waited for a solid 17 minutes.
The pizza was half decent not the worst of ever had, but what the heck. Why are you playing peekaboo with your pizza? What are you guys doing? Absolute insanity I don’t think I’m ever coming back here again.
